Likelihood to Recommend In its beta [version] it got stuck in some modules but with the new update, it’s working [perfectly]. It does not matter what size of a company is [it's perfect] for every Spacs to use.
Read full review For a smaller company who wants to capture data and operate like a large company, Paycor is fantastic. It's a pretty good value for what you get. It's replaced our CompaRatio spreadsheets to give us data that really only forward-thinking companies utilize.
Payroll is pretty easy even with differentials, add ons, recurring items and one-offs. Time cards and expense management are both integrated seamlessly to the pay grid. There are more glitches than I'd like to see and I can imagine a larger workforce, or one with lots of locations, might be hard to manage. The detailed mapped punches we require and drive the job costing can't be done using the setting where if you don't have signal, it saves your data until you do. So if you don't have signal, you simply can't punch and have to report one. This is tricky for our dispatched team. Having a shift differential for emergency dispatch has eluded Paycor, where there are 2 ways it's typically done but for us, for some reason, each way doesn't solve the problem. Our job costing reports are all off because unless we require everyone to transfer punches to a Regular Base Wage (extra work to punch in), the reports dump all the time to any transferred job, not just the hours actually clocked. For the most part, it's a good system for up to 50 EE with some complex situations, or up to 100 EE with basic needs. I'm not sure how it will grow with us past that
Read full review Pros Organization. Real-time control. Read full review Recruiting platform is easy to use for organizations and candidates Keeping benefits administration in same platform keeps it at employee fingertips at all times Paycor puts out a wealth of knowledge in tutorials, webinars, how to’s, and makes it easy to acquire information when needed Read full review Cons It’s interface is bit tricky but eventually get used to it. Other then that its perfect for its use. Read full review Manual onboarding needs help. Employees are defaulted to the wrong job class and I have to correct their job class after I have hired them. Our default time zone should be the time zone of the employer, not Paycor's time zone. Ability to run a report showing employee time zones. Ability to run a report showing employee Policy Group. Read full review Likelihood to Renew Price point is the biggest driving factor. Paycor has made some strides in the customer service area and we've seen enough improvements that renewing our contract has become more a reality than a pipe dream. The system functions well and our employees are familiar with how it works, so to make a change would be a huge lift for our team
Read full review Usability Much easier to use and administer than our previous payroll software. My employees have greater, and easier, access to information. Some things on the time sheet take a couple of times to enter to actually reflect, which is a little frustrating, but with patience it works and that is a rarity
Read full review Reliability and Availability I feel like Paycor is always up and running! If they are planning downtime, they communicate it clearly. Every once in a while, I get something that says the system isn't working but it is usually back up within the hour. I typically find by the time that the employees complain about it, that it is resolved within the system.
Read full review Performance For the most part, everything moves super fast. There are a few sections (Expense Management) that sometimes take a bit to load correctly. Or if they are interesting, it takes a minute to talk to each other! But reports are quickly downloaded and available! Even data heavy reports run fairly fast!
Read full review Support Rating I feel like support will transfer you back and forth between departments and put you on hold forever. I believe it is very difficult to see the status of an open ticket. During my experience, it feels like the client has to push all communication and request updates from support regularly.
Read full review Online Training The online trainings are super helpful. They have user guides that you can read through, interactive training that will walk you through it as well as plain web based ones. I've actually never had an in-person training but all of the information you need can be found online. They also will do individual support training if you are struggling with a certain area.
Read full review Implementation Rating Implementation of any new software is going to be challenging, especially if you are maintaining an existing program concurrently. When it is time for dual-processing (both old and new software) prior to going live, be prepared to be stressed. But trust the process and it will be over soon.
Read full review Alternatives Considered I would always prefer foundU for payrolls because it covers almost every module. And it’s really easy to use. It's cost efficient and it’s one of the best tools currently available for payment solutions.
Read full review Paylocity was cumbersome and not very intuitive. I was constantly on the phone with them trying to figure out how to do something. I once called back 4 different times( because I didn’t believe the answer they gave me was how to do what I was asking), explained my problem the exact same way and got 4 different answers. So, I lost trust in the product and started looking for a product I could rely on.
Read full review Scalability I gave it a 10 because we only use it across one organization. However, it has allowed us to break it into multiple departments and layers of management. It is also easy for us to utilize across different locations but still under one master company. They have always provided us support when we decide to change something on an organizational level
Read full review Return on Investment Always exact payroll. Advanced calculations. Read full review Freeing HR's time has been necessary since only two people are in our HR department. Allowing employees to use the mobile app for their timecards has led to less tracking down of out-of-office employees for their hours on payroll weeks.
