IDrive is great for personal backup, especially for people who work with music or video and have multiple external devices where that content lives.
Storage for this quantity of storage is often very expensive if you store it somewhere like Dropbox, but it is not accessible enough at places like Backblaze.
IDrive makes it easy to backup content of this type without creating many headaches. I also like that the agent that lives on the computer is very light weight and doesn't use a lot of computer processing power.
MEGA is great for storing and syncing files across devices. It has a great web interface, as well as a sync tool for desktop and a mobile app that works very well on iPhone. (I have not used the Android version of the app.) I like the overall usability, as well as some of the features like the QR code and contact list functionality. I like the file versioning and file management features as well. What works less well for me is collaboration with other users, and file sharing among users. I have not been able to find a way to view all files shared with me from other users in the same view as my own files. In fact, when files are shared with me, the only way I have been able to locate them is through Notifications, which is sub-par. I would much prefer to see all shared folders alongside my files, without having to make a copy of the shared folder, thus losing the ability to sync with another user's changes, as well as using up my storage space.
It is becomes painfully slow for its unlimited backup when most of the users who use it for long time even for a month. This should be improved.
There are not many options on the IDrive to select the "AUX" menu, I'm experiencing this problem with my newly bought second hand BMW 3 series E90 32i, 2010 model. There is not external devices alternative for me.
Restoring an older version of a file is the hardest stuffs for me
Clean, contemporary UI that is heavily polished and works great. You can tell they did a lot of user testing with this, and have a top notch UI design team that really cares about the customer. A highly user-friendly service across platforms and form factors, I found their web, desktop and mobile apps to all be impeccably designed and consistent.
I have not had to use their tech support. I did call once but luckily figured out what to do while I was on hold so I disconnected. If I really needed them it would have been a very long hold time I suppose.
While I have never contacted customer support, there is a large user community that has posted solutions on third party websites to a number of common questions like how to share files, and how to access files that have been shared with you. When I received a 40 GB shared file, I was not able to find how to access it until I searched on Google to find a solution, which was easy to find. The large user community helps with support tremendously.
Backblaze is extremely limited in terms of what files I back up — seems to be all or nothing, and I don't need my entire machine backed up. Many of these files are on attached external SSDs, which I could not specify with Backblaze. And if it was possible, I couldn't find such an option.
Mega is a must go to first when expanding cloud storage capabilities and security. Mega can store any file types beyond that of Google Drive and iCloud. Mega is competitively priced to be a suitable option to replace or augment other cloud storage options depending on your business needs. Mega is a must download addition for cloud storage
iDrive has saved us money as their pricing structure is fair and they allow multiple devices to be backed up under the same account - where others do not.
iDrive has saved us time as we no longer have to manually back up and sync files on our computers to external drives.
iDrive has lessened the burden of stress. We no longer worry that we may lose critical data that can no longer be recovered.
