LiveWebinar

  • If you need your own branded meetings, webinar solution.
  • If you need many features to tweak the system/
  • If you need up to 1000 participants in a meeting, this would be a good platform to have.
  • Quickly start a meeting with no hassle, no installations, just share a link via email or chat.
  • Customers can join on mobile devices.
  • Less appropriate if you have participants who need to call in and you don't have that particular plan.

WebinarJam

WebinarJam is a great tool if you are a small to mid-sized company and want to set up/schedule webinars and let the software do its job (capture your presentation and analytics). It looks professional, is used by many professionals/leaders, and is a fraction of the cost of other well-known brands. If cost doesn't matter to you, then you might as well go with a higher paying product. Also, WebinarJam audio is only accessed via the internet, there is not a conference call phone line system

Pros

LiveWebinar

  • LiveWebinar makes it easy to share video clips and offer explanations simultaneously.
  • LiveWebinar allows the host to turn off the chat function so individuals are not distracted during the teaching.
  • LiveWebinar offers the ability to switch between teacher visuals, videos and power points, just as if doing 'in person.'

WebinarJam

  • WebinarJam is really good at helping to create professional-level webinars.
  • WebinarJam takes care of a lot of issues for marketing your online events, with notification and tracking.
  • WebinarJam makes it very easy to personalize your webinars with your own branding and gives you a lot of control over the design of everything, from landing pages to email notifications.

Cons

LiveWebinar

  • Call-in feature for meeting participants should be a standard feature. With my plan, I cannot access this.
  • Account assistant login is cumbersome.
  • Paintbrushes for whiteboard/presentation annotations could be improved and should include stamps (checkmarks, red big arrow, etc.).

WebinarJam

  • You can host your own landing pages with your own design, which is great. But if you're not a designer and you just want to use one of their templates... they're not great. They're not bad either, but they haven't been updated in a while so they could use some fresh design.
  • Webinar video files are hosted on youtube instead of WebinarJam itself. Sometimes you can see the youtube logo while watching a replay, which is not great.
  • Just general improvements/redesigns. I don't think they've updated their dashboard since I started using it. Again, it works just fine, but I'd appreciate some upgrades from time to time.

That's actually one of their main strong points, their usability. Webinars (both live and pre-recorded) are extremely easy to setup, and live webinars are automatically being recorded. You get a link to a replay page that you can share with those attendees that weren't able to show up for the live version or you can use them to get people to watch the session again.

It's email-only support. No email, no chat, etc. I only had to get in touch with them a couple of times and they were actually quite fast. But I think they could do better in terms of creating ways for people to solve their questions.

Alternatives Considered

LiveWebinar

LiveWebinar doesn't require participants to download software and can easily run from computers or mobile devices. Webex and Adobe Connect also have challenges with staying connected, these are probably equal and may be somewhat related to the internet service more than the program, or the browser being used. LiveWebinar was easy to set up and start using.

WebinarJam

Many of the webinar tools feature some similar functionality. I like WebinarJam because it's pretty easy and intuitive to set up and pretty fast to get started once you get the hang of using it. I also really like it because I purchased it during the launch special and now can run all my webinars for significantly cheaper than any other tool available on the market to run webinars.

Return on Investment

LiveWebinar

  • With the lifetime plan, we paid off this investment in 3-5 months vs. having a subscription-based solution. After that, the application is "free."
  • We spent quite some time researching and testing all the features before we could make a decision.
  • Positive effect on client relationships, as we don't have any additional cost to arrange another meeting.
Dani S | TrustRadius Reviewer

WebinarJam

  • More leads. Doing regular webinars helped us generate more leads for our business.
  • More sales. Using offers and special offers during the webinars increased sales.
