Considered Both Products

Chose monday dev
Monday is better than Jobber, as it gives you a place to see where all the jobs are and what the current status is. Everyone in the company can go to and see that view. It's not dependent on the status of the employee. Excel is much more technical and requires much more work to …
Chose monday dev
It is at least as good as these tools, in many ways, it is better because it is easier to use and setup. It doesn't require a full-time admin like these tools do. It does lack some of the detailed reporting and such that these offer, but the product is still young and growing. …
Chose monday dev
We selected it because of our previous positive experience with monday dev. In addition, it gave us more options to tie in other parts of our business so it’s under one umbrella and then further automate things. The over tracking and monitoring ability is far better than others …
Chose monday dev
I think that overall the way that monday dev stands out among its competitors is the great design layout and also its ease of use. Most platforms have so many steps when editing a project or customizing its view, and when you work with monday dev, you are able to customize it …
UserVoice
Chose UserVoice
Asana isn't designed for user feedback and became a daunting, running list of feedback. UserVoice was a huge improvement.
Chose UserVoice
We are now using Zendesk which I do not like at all.
Chose UserVoice
I like the ease of integration into web and mobile apps for UserVoice. It's also a comprehensive bug reporting, user feedback, and knowledge base tool.
Chose UserVoice
These other tools do plenty of things, but few as slick as UserVoice.
Chose UserVoice
I have used a lot of systems including ZenDesk. UserVoice is way better.

If you do web programming, code integration with your remote team, and/or software development that requires real-time monitoring of development progress, monday dev is an excellent tool for this. Like its base platform, Monday.com, monday dev is developed and attempts to integrate into a very "new era" organizational system of digital whiteboards, only now focused more on productivity and helping developers to be comfortable in remote work.

UserVoice is well suited if you field a lot of feedback and ideas from clients. If you are a company who is building your software based on customer feedback, it is important to have a place to store and organize this feedback. I think UserVoice is ideal for a company whose feedback comes into one team but needs to be passed along to another (i.e Support to Product). UserVoice is also great for companies that are growing and growing their product quickly.

Cons
  • Sometimes, it's a little technical to set up. Someone who isn't particularly savvy will have a hard time setting it up.
  • Sometimes there are glitches in the automations.
  • The comments areas can be confusing- how they nest. Things can get lost in there.

  • Doesn't always catch obvious spam/we have to do a fair amount of blacklisting
  • Doesn't have multiple language options
  • No online/email tech support available. You have to call if you have an issue.

Usability
This has been one of the better software implementations and acquisitions that I have been a part of in the last 20 years. The ease of setup, use, and training make this a simple and quick tool to implement in any organization. The usability is so simple that the uptime to start using it is nearly 0.

Have clear goals and owners established before you start using any tool like this. Very important to get accounts and rights setup so that there's no lag time in customer response once things go live. Make sure IT is involved if you plan to use the Single-Sign On (SSO) or any of the access control tools.

Return on Investment
  • Although the initial operational cost is usually somewhat high, it is really worth considering in an environment with more than 10 employees working together.
  • In project costing (web development) it is quite acceptable and falls within the scope of the final product quote.
  • I don't have exact numbers or percentages (because I'm not in charge of that section) but I can say that it falls within a good to acceptable ROI range.
