Open Loyalty
The scenario where Open Loyalty is better suited is with a customer that has one and only one e-commerce site or equivalent. Many customers think it would be easy to customize Open Loyalty for multiple companies, using only one installation. This is difficult to Open Loyalty since different companies will have different rules, levels of rewards, etc, and that's not easily configured on Open Loyalty. So, the price of OpenLoyalty for third-world countries is a little steep, making its acquisition possible only to large companies.

PowerReviews
Any site with e-commerce should have reviews if possible, to give users the confidence necessary to click "add to cart." PowerReviews is easy to implement and has highly customizable display possibilities. I would recommend them to a mid to large enterprise looking for a scalable solution. Small businesses might be able to use a more stripped down tool.

PowerReviews
  • PowerReviews does a good job at flagging responses so there isn't anything inappropriate on our website.
  • PowerReviews provides a nice "snapshot" of reviews with an average rating, recommendation percentage, and the main pros and cons. Making it quick and easy for the customer to get overall information.
  • It is easy for customers to leave reviews. There is a good amount of open-ended questions as well as options that customers can choose from. The system is customizable to fit our needs.

Cons
Open Loyalty
  • Many customers expect Open Loyalty to have an e-commerce interface. Maybe they could build a barebones interface to satisfy the rare customer that still doesn't have a CRM o ERP or equivalent in place

PowerReviews
  • If you lack basic coding knowledge (or don't have someone on your team to set this up) it may be a bit of a challenge to get started.
  • The backend has a bit of a learning curve to it, but can be worked through easily with persistence.

Alternatives Considered
Open Loyalty
Open Loyalty is way more powerful than Tango Card. Zoho CRM doesn't really stack up against OL, since it's too generic. The area where we think Open Loyalty would beat other products is scalability and customization. Open Loyalty has been tried on really large customers and the database never felt sluggish nor the web interface or the web services.

PowerReviews
My experience was with simple software like Google My Business, but for some Reviews & Ratings, it was good enough and supplied my demand. Once the Google world is one of the bests environments for initial and small businesses, I think using their tools someway we can sound better. If it's not the case PowerReviews will serve as well.

Open Loyalty
  • My company implements OpenLoyalty, but we've seen a positive ROI for our customers, since everybody and their uncles are implementing loyalty / rewards programs in LATAM
