Proliant vs. UZIO

Overall, I would generally recommend Proliant to a colleague as I think the system and structure has great bones and is generally very easy to use. However, if a colleague was needing a system with a robust reporting system or access to immediate support, I would be less likely to recommend the system.

UZIO is one of the best HRIS systems I have used over my career. What sets them apart, in my opinion, is the ability to quickly fix or add things because they have actual engineers. Other HRIS systems are just duplicates of other systems that require a lengthy process to correct anything and are much more cumbersome. UZIO is use-friendly.

• Reporting is limited to data that is pulled by pay period--not by date worked, so if trying to determine how much an employee earned during a quarter--you have to calculate this manually
• Employee records are limited to admin only viewing--so managers can not see payrates, upload documents to employee files or update expiration dates to licenses, etc
• User guides in the knowledge base are out of date and don't cover the recent updates to the system--or outline processes that are no defunct
• Limited integrations with other HR platforms are available. Ex--outside ATS, candidate assessment tools

• We have a shift that crosses midnight and the system resets OT calculation when it becomes a new day, but in CA OT is calculated on hours worked and doesn’t split a shift at midnight for OT purposes. So far they have been unable to address this as it's not an issue in other states.
• Holiday Pay has been an issue because of our policy - too many changing variables to create a process. Unfortunately, you cannot adjust holiday pay on the employee's timesheet. That would be the simplest solution but so far that hasn't happened.
• Non-US Citizen beneficiary. This is not an option when electing benefits. Not a big deal unless you have employees with families abroad. We had one and we created a work around.
• Everything has to be downloaded. You cannot click on an employee's pay stub (for example) and view it within UZIO. It must be downloaded to your computer. Not a big deal - just takes more time and more files to delete on your computer.

Proliant is pretty easy to maneuver and get used to. There are some things than can be tedious but nothing too difficult where you have to spend hours to get it to work. The payroll processing is pretty straightforward and that's the core reason why we use their software.

To have payroll, HR functions, and scheduling all in one place has truly been a game changer. Even with us only having started using UZIO since February, it’s been so easy to pick up and go for management and our employees. I truly couldn’t recommend UZIO enough. 10 out of 10

Proliant is the only payroll software I have used, and I don't plan on changing that anytime soon. It gives me everything I need in simple, easy-to-use software. If I have questions they have quality customer service. I get calls weekly to change to other payroll services, and I don't consider changing because there is no need to change - I have everything I need here. Proliant does exactly the job I am looking for it to do.

UZIO has a much smoother/easier workflow for benefits setup and management. The system is extremely user friendly and the platform is clean and easy to read. UZIO listens to client feedback and uses that information to improve the system and make it work better for users.

• i am not able to give this information because I don't believe our firm fully uses Proliant
• I was just made aware of some of the benefits Proliant can offer through this survey
• The only negative is that when the "pre-wire" requirement was activated this year, we were not told ahead of time and it caused a lot of confusion and delay when we tried to process the first partner payroll in January.

• UZIO has had a positive impact on the time it takes to onboard/offboard or complete payroll.
• UZIO is much more affordable that some of the other HRIS systems.
• The only negative is that they do not have a performance mgmt system.
