SAP Cloud ERP reduces dependency on multiple systems and ensures improved efficiency in enterprise resource planning. Real-time reporting capabilities and scalability of the product. Use of the software ensures compliance and allows smooth integration with other systems. The software allows customization to accommodate users' uniqueness and has very convenient customer support services. The only major challenge with the software is limited configuration.

Small deployments, where you have some specific need for ServiceMax and absolutely need offline capabilities, and are willing to deal with the problems. Otherwise, you may be better off looking at the built-in Work Orders and field service module that Salesforce is now providing. Their app is direct competition for ServiceMax and integrates much better with cases and knowledge articles.

  • The product is expensive compared to its competitors. Proper training is also a requirement before implementation, which is an additional cost.
  • SAP S 4HANA Cloud lags due to a high volume of work and data.
  • The user interface of the software is very complex and not easy to explore, especially for beginners.

  • It seems to be a Ferrari and takes a lot of labor hours to configure.

The cost of SAP as an ERP is quite high and the switching costs associated with ERP systems are even higher. That being said moving from one ERP to another only happens once in a great while for large organizations. Those switching costs include retraining, IT hardware requirements, outside consultants and more

The support system I find great as whenever I run into problems they rectify them quickly as possible they never reacted late the support is just up to the mark for me. They provide many solutions to the problems I faced the [technical] team support is always amazing they [listen] to mean work accordingly.

SAP requires
a lot of internal and external resources to complete its successful
implementation. The cloud version requires a deeper understanding of the
different capabilities of the local systems (hardware) and the connection
towards your local IT team. We found several problems on our systems that we
couldn't foresee before the implementation and roll out.

ServiceMax has an offline capability, and also integrates with our Salesforce side of business. At the time, Salesforce did not have a field service application so we could not consider it, but if we could now, we would probably go with that instead. ServiceMax is also expensive. But at the time, ServiceMax was the only offering out there that integrated with Salesforce, had mobile offline capability, and could operate at the scale we needed.

  • Surpasses many well reputed applications in terms of performance and data insight when you are into SAP products
  • More reliable and secure as we are not going to create multiple copy of master data, one single shared master data and all will work like charm
  • For authentication we can also use Microsoft MFA or Google single sign-on , so less complexity
  • For customized business process, we can implement extension packages which are like templates

  • ROI for ServiceMax is mostly dependent on how in depth the organization wants the software. Our ROI is expected within the second year of operation due to the complexity of integration and the initial training requirements for in-house programmers.
  • Inventory control ROI is expected within year three or four due to the number of technicians and creating the foundation of information to import into ServiceMax. Expectations are the front end programming will be complete and our programmers will be better acquainted with the modules and architecture to make the inventory integration smoother than the initial integration.
  • Our organization has been working with ServiceMax for ten months and beginning to incorporate the financials to the work orders. This process has not been as seamless as once projected and the root causes are under investigation. It appears the original fields available to track time between employees were not in depth nor segregated sufficiently for granularity.
