We evaluated Spanning Backup for Salesforce, but it didn't match our business scenario, as they create daily incremental backups without a possibility for retention.
OwnBackup is a great solution for anyone wanting to backup their Salesforce data reliably. It is also a great solution for archiving older records that still need a UI that allows users to easily access those records in the future.
In my opinion, Skyvia Backup is well suited for automatic backing up and restoring Salesforce data. It's intuitive and easy to use which saves a lot of time and requires almost no learning curve to start using.
We were not able to interrupt the process of backup creation the moment it has been launched, so I guess this counts as a room for improvement. We had to wait till the backup was completed to delete it and relaunch with the correct data.
