Easy to configure reliable back up for HubSpot

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Skyvia as a backup for our HubSpot CRM data. We wanted a secondary backup in the case of losing access to our HubSpot account, plus the more sophisticated automatic setup and restore offered by Skyvia. We've set it up for weekly automatic backup and also to auto delete the oldest version to us within our subscription space limit.

Pros

  • Automatic weekly backup - no manual intervention required once configured
  • Integration with HubSpot is easy
  • Auto clean oldest version to keep within space limit

Cons

  • I initially found the navigation a little tricky for certain actions, however, improvements have been made over the last year

Return on Investment

  • Allows us to feel secure that our data is being backed up outside of HubSpot and can be restored on demand

Usability

Affordable backup solution for Salesforce

Pros

  • To us, the main strength of Skyvia Backup is its clean user-interface and straightforward setup process. It took us very little time to get our heads around the setup, and we could get back to other tasks.
  • We also appreciate the feature of searching for a particular record or specific dataset - it is very helpful when one of our clients requests a partial restoration.

Cons

  • Sometimes Salesforce backup creation takes a lot of time, but Skyvia support explained that it's a Salesforce API limitation, so there's not much they can do to improve it.

Return on Investment

  • Faster and more affordable disaster recovery compared to Salesforce
  • Little to no time spent on backup configuration and maintenance

Alternatives Considered

Spanning Backup for Salesforce

Skyvia Backup solution for Salesforce

Pros

  • Skyvia Backup is a web tool, that's why we don't need to install and maintain it. The interface is pretty intuitive and you can clearly see what's going on with your backups, compare backup versions, and restore specific records per request.

Cons

  • Skyvia Backup's room for improvement is that it still doesn't have support for Salesforce metadata, which would be very useful.

Return on Investment

  • We haven't measured the ROI yet, but the fact that we don't have to pay per each user that accesses our backup account is very beneficial to us, as we are a small organization.

Alternatives Considered

Spanning Backup for Salesforce

Reliable Salesforce backup solution

Pros

  • I like the fact that Skyvia Backup is a standalone cloud solution we have access to 24\7, so in case of an emergency we can find and restore any record we need. Not to mention that searching through Skyvia Backup is also faster in general than searching through Salesforce itself.

Cons

  • We'd like some improvement on backup email notification - we receive emails if the backup creation has failed for some reason, but we don't receive them when it has been completed, or when we run out of disk space. It requires spending some additional time to log in and check whether the disk space is still enough. Would be great to save this time for other tasks.

Return on Investment

  • We cannot disclose figures, I guess, but Skyvia Backup for sure had positive impact on our ROI as it saved us a lot of money for SFDC records restoration.

Cost efficient backup for HubSpot

Pros

  • We appreciated the speed with which we could find and restore a particular record when it was accidentally deleted from HubSpot. I think the strengths of Skyvia Backup include its performance, simple user interface, and comprehensive documentation - you don't have to hire a top-notch consultant to help you with onboarding, like with some other tools on the market. You just check 1 page of documentation, and set everything up, no previous experience needed.

Cons

  • We were not able to interrupt the process of backup creation the moment it has been launched, so I guess this counts as a room for improvement. We had to wait till the backup was completed to delete it and relaunch with the correct data.

Return on Investment

  • Skyvia Backup came at a much lower cost than the planned budget for a backup solution, so we are satisfied.
