Tango Card vs. Tremendous

If you use this program to provide gift cards make sure to warn the recipients to use them asap! In my experience, strange things can happen with on-line purchases. Maybe send a reminder to the recipient explaining that Tango is "banking" on you not to spend all of the funds.

Tremendous is well suited for businesses giving gift cards to employees as a reward or to research participants as thanks/compensation for their time. It's not like a cash sharing software between friends. It is also best for relatively small amounts of money because the sender runs the risk of sending the reward to the wrong email

• The initial setup of the API with all the ACH info was a bit complicated.
• The only speedbump (not big concern) is the branding of a Tango Card - when saying that to recipients, they don't "get it" immediately and some quick-to-judgement folks can say they don't want it.

• We do not have insight into whether a customer has redeemed a reward or not
• Unredeemed rewards kind of go into a void, we cannot get funds back for unclaimed rewards

They have a lot of rules around spending. You cannot use the card for funds that are greater than the amount you want to spend and do a split payment transaction. This makes it virtually impossible to use all of the funds on the card

Giving it a 9 only because I haven't been using it for more than 6 months but that said, I've had enough projects and redemptions to get a full understanding of its performance. TANGO CARD just works better than the rest for the redemption experience for the end recipient.

We liked Tango Card much more as it was easier to use and had more flexibility within our company. It allowed us to be more creative as well. The scale of cards and ease of use, both front and back end were huge decision points for us. Everything about Tango Card appeared to be much better than Tremendous and we are happy with our choice.

Tremendous allowed us for more customization to the email and landing page, Rybbon had their own branding on the email and page which was something we did not want. One of the main selling points for us with Tremendous was the ability to use our own firm's email domain. This allowed us to send an email coming from our firm, so our clients and prospects recognized the domain.

• The fact that it's free to use means Tremendous has had a very positive ROI on our research operations. We've gained much and lost nothing.
