ActivTrak is used at Alpha to track time students spend on their learning applications.

Pros

Provides raw data access which is valuable to us.

Cons

ActivTrak's current categorization system leaves much to be desired. If the system were more robust and specific, then we would not have to rely on the raw data so much.
Chromebook tracking is not always reliable and has not been updated recently.

Likelihood to Recommend

ActivTrak is great if you want access to the raw data as it provides a level of flexibility to perform more analysis and generate your own reports.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have been using this tool in our business for quite some time now and that is also in quite many different ways. It is working as a Workforce Analytics Software and we find it to be the best software we have ever used. This tool has solved problems of tracking all the production happening between employees. This tool helps us in gauging if an employee is productive or is a good fit for our organization or not. Hence, to sum up we are truly liking this tool so far.

Pros

This tool provides us with notifications about employees if they are being overloaded with work.
It has proven to be an easy product that is always available for those who you should not be contacting.
The product has an amazing alarm feature that lets us know if employees are corrupt or sometimes if files get saved on an external device then this feature saves us.

Cons

I find the USB tracking system to be a little incomplete because it should be helpful in setting alarms for USB storage devices.
The Live Productivity Report Page also needs some improvements like it would have become better if users had the ability to print the page.

Likelihood to Recommend

I personally think that this tool is adequate for office environments particularly when you have some doubts. I find this tool to be very useful and helpful. Also, the product shows users the categories plus the amount of time they spend in each category just to derive an idea of how they spend time. Overall, I love and enjoy this product a lot and I would highly recommend businesses to give this a shot.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use ActivTrak for our design team and those who work out of country. It helps us to track productivity and clients that are being worked on. It helps with the peace of mind that things are getting done.

Pros

ActivTrak takes screenshots. We don't look at those often, but it is nice to be able take a look and see what clients are being worked on.
You can set websites/apps as productive or unproductive. It is useful when taking a quick glance at the productivity chart.

Cons

The only thing I wish could be done is when you are looking at the top users graph, it would be nice to be able to mark things as productive or unproductive on that graph instead of having to go to a different page to do so.

Likelihood to Recommend

With a lot of employees working from home, it is nice to be able to look at ActivTrak and seeing what's being done. We don't look at it on a daily basis, but it is useful to look at when something needs to be confirmed.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We made the decision to implement ActivTrak to track employee engagement throughout the day and increase productivity for certain employees.

Pros

The ability to customize rules around notifications and alarms is well-developed.
The dashboard for quickly viewing high-level details across all deployments saves time by ensuring results are easily available rather than having to dig and mine for them.

Cons

I wish ActivTrak sold licenses by the seat instead of in bundles (with a minimum of 5 seats).
I was disappointed to see ActivTrak come out with more tiered subscriptions a few months after we were using it - when we started there was a free version and a paid version, but after a few months in the paid version they split it into a free version and two paid versions (so unless you're in the highest tier, you get a subset of the features).

Likelihood to Recommend

ActivTrak is great for tracking employee engagement, time on task, and alerting on unauthorized use of company assets. It can also help identify potential candidates for burnout. While it's relatively affordable, it's not ideal for small companies/deployments as the pricing requires a minimum of 5 seats.

ActivTrak is one of the most used and best platforms available in the market helps in providing workforce analytics and insights that empower people, optimize processes, and use to maximize of technology. The powerful and intuitive tool basically designed to help in the analytics system and managing operations easily. I have been using this platform for a very long time and it has been sated out to be the best platform for me in live reports and automatic reporting functionality makes it easy to use and effective while working.

Pros

The best feature it gives me insights into my employees where they are spending their time.
Its screenshot feature helps to have real-time proof of any suspicious activity.
It also helps to see what the websites are doing about their productivity and reports.
Reasonable in price.

Cons

The main drawback that I have been facing while using this platform is that it does not show the active hours of team members. It does not show how much time do employees took to complete the task.
It does not give exact information regarding the location.

Likelihood to Recommend

I have been using this platform for a long time and it is helping me a lot to manage all the work analytics and managing team members. Powerful and intuitive UI with having all the features used to handle employers. I would definitely recommend this to other businesses to use this tool for effective management of employees.

We use ActivTrak to observe how our teens are using our devices. It is used by every computer in our department to ensure appropriate usage.

Pros

Screenshot alarms that give you an idea of how the device is being used.
Categorizes how each user is dividing their time.

Cons

An option for continuous screenshots.
Setting up screenshot alarms could be easier.

We have teenagers that use our computers and ActivTrak allows us to observe how they are using the devices and spending their time. It is very helpful with this, and we are able to set alarms to take screenshots to ensure that usage is appropriate. I also like that I can see the categories and the amount of time spent in each category to get an idea of how the teens are spending their time.

It is currently being used to track the productivity of our remote employees. We have many [employees] across the country and [we] need to ensure they are being productive, and performing their assigned duties.

Pros

Detailed....lets you know everything that is going on.
Easy to use, web based, doesn't take up space on your network.
Manageable from anywhere, makes things very easy.

Cons

Automatically adding new users to be tracked shouldn't be the default.
I'd like to see Team Pulse as the default page after log in.
Menu navigation could be a bit easier.

Likelihood to Recommend

Perfect for keeping track of remote employees, and it isn't detectable. Therefore, employees will act naturally.

Also makes note of downtime as well, another plus.

Being in a smaller office environment, it's not something I'd use in the office because employees are easier to keep tabs on. ActivTrak definitely has more pluses than minuses.

ActivTrak is being used to discover if remote users are making good use of their time and comparing it to their time while in the office. Sadly, there is one that is well below the productivity hours while remote than everyone else. One user thinks that if they are remote they can just tap the screen every once in a while, but ActivTrak will show what screens they access.

Pros

I like that I can set alarms for when a user plugs in a USB device and can have screenshots of what it is.
You can configure different sites and actions as to whether you want them to be a Productive category or another. You can set up Categories for programs and sites like education, email, security, research & reference, to name a few.
You can set up Users and divide them into groups or departments. Can set up users at different admin levels.

Cons

Still learning all the features so can't speak much on what is hard to use or missing.

ActivTrak is well suited in an office environment, especially when you have doubts on if the user is veering from work allowed activity on the web.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

This was deployed to maintain supervision of remote workers. It allows me to monitor the usage and productivity of my staff.

Pros

Takes screen shots.
Allows for categorizing of content to report on employee productivity.
Keeps a log of the usage for each staff and allows you to see real working time.
Allows you to compare staff productivity.

Cons

This needs to be able to be deployed remotely for all platforms. Upon update, mine stopped monitoring my staff PC's. I would have to have their computer to update- not convenient.

Likelihood to Recommend

The update and the fact that it stopped monitoring really is the only reason I am not completely happy with this product. The features are wonderful. In a remote environment, people do not always have access to the PC they are monitoring.

This is being used in various departments as a means to review daily activity while employees are working remotely. It has helped us significantly in understanding each employee's daily workload and success.

Pros

Reviews each website that is being utilized.
Provides notifications if employees are close to burning out due to work overload.
Provides an easy quick look into who is available and who is not should you need to contact them.

Cons

Lots of glitches: Screen sometimes doesn't show an employee or the names are all blank even though I know they are working.

Likelihood to Recommend

Other than the glitches, it is working well for us.
