Amazon WorkSpaces (VDI) is a great tool for easily accessing the remote desktop of our organization. It works on almost every OS. It is stable and works seamlessly. We use this tool across our organization. During this pandemic situation, it has been great help with the work from home situation. It doesn't consume lot of ram and hence can be run on any machine.
  • Stable and secure
  • Consumes less RAM
  • Works perfectly even under low internet speed
  • Two-factor authentication
  • Authentication mail arrives late sometimes
  • Should have the option to authenticate the login with a text code
  • Doesn't remember login password
Amazon WorkSpaces (VDI) is stable on Windows Client, even under low internet speed. It is secure with its two-factor authentication. It works great even with a low-spec machine because it consumes very little memory. It is a bit unstable on macOS client and it doesn't quit on the first try sometimes--we have to force quit the application.

[Amazon WorkSpaces (VDI)] is used as a virtual machine to connect to our network for troubleshooting purposes
  • Effective Token validation
  • Safe way to manage our credentials
  • The machine state is preserved to continue the next day from the same point
  • Copy and paste does not work well
  • The performance is degraded during the day being slow at the end of the journey
  • Some user interface issues displaying the page
  • Sometimes when I type a word a letter is pasted many [times]

Not always appropriate in user experience with the interface as typing and using shortcuts don't work as expected

We use Amazon WorkSpaces as our Virtual Machine software of choice. Whether we use it for consultants or employees, we've found it simpler to manage and easier to roll-out than other VM services such as VMWare or Windows Remote Desktop. Hosted by AWS, this service allows us to quickly scale our virtual desktop needs.
  • Amazon WorkSpaces provides us with total control over our employee/consultant workstations.
  • We can spin up new workstations in minutes.
  • At the moment, I have no complaints about this service. I've used other VM software for years, and this is by far the simplest and easiest I've tried.
Amazon WorkSpaces (VDI) is easy to set up from both an IT perspective and a user perspective. Being a cloud-based virtual desktop, you have all your data, programs. and workflows accessible from anywhere with a simple download and sign-in. IT management is just as easy. Security, network, permissions, they're all easy to control from Amazon WorkSpaces.
AWS support in general is pretty good, and WorkSpaces is no exception. We haven't had too much need for support but on the occasion we have, they've been quick to respond and helpful. Our issues have been resolved rapidly.
