We use Anaplan for budgeting, forecasting and business plan - detailed plans of headcount, revenue planning and tracking Fee Earner performances. Anaplan is a modeling platform that is used for a few very important financial processes such as
1) Enterprise Planning and Budgeting
2) Tech cost allocation
3) Firm profitability expense allocation
4) Fund profitability expense allocation
5) Many smaller models for specific use cases such as accounting journal entries, capital planning, interest planning and regional headcount planning.
Main problem Anaplan solves is for many people, say 100, to plan and contribute to the planning process in the same place with real time info. For allocation models, the benefit is, to have real time informing of allocations in 1 step informing the future steps.

Anaplan helps eliminate the offline files created by different teams during the financial planning process. The result is that users have one source of truth with the real-time view, so there are not multiple versions of different files flowing from one team/user to another. Another benefit is that the process is unified based on the previously defined and agreed logic, and everybody follows the same steps and calculations. This helps to build more precise and suitable plans based on the same sources in a predefined timeline.

We use Anaplan for FP&A planning. We plan a full P&L by channel for Wholesale, Direct Store, & .com business. We plan down to the store/customer group using robust driver based planning. In true connected planning form, results are sent to a consolidation model for consolidation with built in FX and Elim logic. In addition, we plan SG&A by cost center for consolidation in the consolidation model. We also offer end users robust reporting inside of Anaplan.

Anaplan allows us a have a powerful single source of truth for data that would have previously been a folder of spreadsheets with many failure points. We can collate forecast across many users and use cases with consistent formula controls and an audit of all changes. Users a presented with a helpful interface, and can yet easily drill down on the underlying components.
