We use CleverTap for event tracking for our users. Helps in building cohorts for push notifications and other action items. Our support team uses CleverTap to identify & troubleshoot issues.
Pros
Event tracking
User profiles
Cohorts based on attributes
Visualisation of data
Cons
The UI certainly needs improvement, not on par with the competitors
Tool is also buggy/clunky at times

CleverTap worked well initially and then got very buggy. It's great for bigger orgs that can move the needle in CleverTap HQ to fix issues. It's not the best option for small orgs or the best data visualisation tool out there.
We used CleverTap to keep track records of users and create automated campaigns regarding email and SMS as per the user events and even we used it for showcasing POP UP, but as we were facing some issues we shifted to moengage. It helped us in improving our business. Even though it helped us to know the user's behavior, what device he used, their location, and much more. Such data helps us with marketing, testing, and much more. Even the analytics help us to know how many events were triggered, did users engaged with campaigns or not. Even it had the functionality to deliver messages immediately or at a specific time which was very helpful.
Pros
It helps in enhancing the user experience and helps to increase the engagement, and even helps by keeping the tracks of events for example - which user clicked which event and what actions were taking place etc.
It even notices that which service has been not since a long and reminds about it , analytics is good and the communication made by CleverTap through mails and sms was good.
Cons
That it even creates multiple account for one email which should be improved , and search functionality should be improved too.
It should make its interface much more simple for new users and provide a module for better understanding.
Tracking particular user for particular functionality should be more helpful thats it

It is suitable for platform like us where we want our users to stay engaged with our business and provide proper communication, it helps in creating automated campaigns for various platform and event-triggered functionality, and it even provides template functionality to design the template as per our needs and I just want that the data management through it should be improved and accurate.
I use it to launch Whatsapp, Push notifications and SMS to our existing base of customers, in order to enhance the commercial results of our company. It allowed us to easily create segments within our database, and to schedule campaigns on a daily basis for different areas of the company. It really allowed us to ramp up our communication with our customers.
Pros
SMS
Push Notifications
Segmentation of Customers
Cons
Identifying customer behavior
Ease of use for new users

Clevertap is awesome if you have a mobile app and you constantly want your customers to access it. It will very easily fit your marketing department schedule and can be used by many users at the same time. The approval for campaigns is also very easy and flexible, can be done on the go by any user with the appropriate credentials.
To mostly send PNs, IGPs, and engagement campaigns, the only problem I personally feel is that the ability to upload and download the data it takes too much time, it should have a shortcut or quick upload feature to the data and a status bar which shows the percentage of the data being uploaded.
Pros
Sends PNs
Shows IGPs
Downloadable data
SMS [campaigns]
Email [campaigns]
Cons
A monthly or weekly check in from CSM would boost the productivity.
An automated data reports to be sent via emails.
A KT on new features realize in details.

It is quite suited for all the SMS, emails, and other in-game campaigns, but wherein the delivery rate I personally feel it is less, and it has [a] limitation on 5 pins for the day for 1 user, it should be unlimited.
We use Clevertap for behavioral analytics and customer engagement. We create targeted campaigns for specific segments, analyze campaign performance and take marketing decisions based on the engagement data. We intend to use it extensively but there are constraints with respect to many features not up to the mark OR due to broken features. However, the combination of SMS, Email, Push and In-App notifications make it a good tool to have.
Pros
Multi-platform engagement
Funnel Data
Marketing automation options
Cons
Customer service isn't that great [from my experience], most of the time the team is puzzled or will leave the client puzzled.
Price is very high with respect to the features available. MAU based pricing with a flawed sense of MAU calculation.
The way they calculate MAU is morally wrong. If a customer opens my email that I am sending via AWS, and they don't even come on my app, how can you consider them as active user?

[In my opinion] It's [CleverTap] not appropriate for starter businesses. It's appropriate for businesses with very strong in-house tech teams to maneuver challenges on their own because after deep integration one can't expect Clevertap Support to be much helpful [from my experience]. It is good in the sense that you need one tool for all-around communications and analytics. However, they have moved away from the events container system, but those still on the events container are neither automatically educated nor transitioned into their new tiers of pricing. I find this a lack of effort of the sales team. So, you are on your own after the implementation.
Clevertap is primarily used for sending omnichannel campaigns, Segmentation, and Retention initiatives. It is also used for drip campaigns, trigger-based campaigns, and personalization initiatives.

App Analytics.
Campaigns.

Cons
Flexibility of keeping more data.
WhatsApp for business Integration.
Email domain reputation management.

It is great to manage campaigns and drive retention and engagement through CleverTap. The different types of events help in real-time data and make live segments. Trigger-based campaigns can help resolve drops in the app-website journey.
CleverTap is being used by multiple departments in the organization -- by marketing for sending out user communications, by the product team for user behavior and funnel analysis, by the leadership team to review the user and booking trends, by engineering to measure the impact of their changes on various KPIs/events, and by the analytics team to create retention/funnel/trends dashboards, etc.
Pros
User communication: it provides a single dashboard to help us reach out to our users via email, push, web push, SMS, in-app and now even WhatsApp. Not just that, we can set up various types of targeting, such as one-time, recurring, date/time based, etc.
Analytics: it offers various views and cuts to analyze the user data, be it in the form of trends, funnels, recency-frequency, user cohorts and segments, etc.
Tracking: it helps us track the impact of various paid and organic marketing channels, through which we can adjust spends and focus on the channels that make an impact.
Cons
Speed: when using a large data sets, the query processing tends to become slow.
Attribution: attribution for paid channels is still not robust, and could be improved.
Cost: it tends to become costly when you scale up to over a few billion events, as the pricing is based on events and not MAUs. It's great for smaller organizations, but as you scale it will become costly.
Likelihood to Recommend
It is well suited for all kinds of marketing activities, be it retargeting, user activation, retention, or even pushing the audience to google or facebook for paid marketing. It is also well suited for all kinds of analytics purposes, and can be used to create dashboards with your required views. It is not well suited to completely rely on this for your entire paid marketing or attribution.
We use CleverTap throughout all of our CRM processes. User acquisition with targeted member to member communication, activation journey campaigns, reactivation through remarketing and special offers, segmentation of specific users with specific actions, etc. Beyond that, we use Clevertap to keep track of several KPIs and campaign performances such as user engagement, user cohorts, AB tests, uninstalls etc. One major problem that it does address is the possibility to personalize the content we deliver to our users; at the same time, its intelligence selects the right time and situation to do it. The level of detail possible to manage is excellent.
Pros
Journey campaigns
User segmentation
Performance tracking
Its customer success team is great
Cons
It does not have a built-in SMS provider.
I does not have a built-in email provider
It gets pricier as you keep piling up data to be stored.
Likelihood to Recommend
It is well suited for apps that intend to keep track and boost its user's engagement, for apps that want to deliver personalized content getting better results in return, and for apps which business requires constant interaction with its users. It is also great for apps that want to manage their KPIs on a very detailed level. It is not suited for apps that do not have development people able to keep it updated and fully integrated. CleverTap demands some tech work since it is constantly launching new features.
CleverTap is the central and core analytics platform for our company. With millions of users every month spending an enormous amount of time on our site to research various things, the amount of data generated is captured in CleverTap. We use it for marketing to target a super concentrated set of users with relevant messaging.
Pros
Helping us find out which users did a certain activity and in which order. The time gap between those activities is also an important metric. This works great with Clevertap because our backend pushes every relevant event with a time stamp to CleverTap so we do not have to maintain events or build the engine to analyze every small action the user took.
Helps us find out which actions our best users take right before they convert. Given the e-commerce like domain we are in, we end up giving a lot of information to our users. Knowing which of these convert what kind of users is very useful.
Helps us setup super focussed campaigns (pop-up, emails etc) to users who would be interested in a certain kind of activity. Our yield per message sent is significantly more when targeting is right.
Cons
I think that CleverTap to some extent can upgrade the usability of its panel. With a lot of features that have been added to the platform, one does seem to be lost in it. Intercom for reference has good usability of its backend albeit with a fraction of complexity that Clevertap solves.
Likelihood to Recommend
From my experience, CleverTap works great where you have a ton of data being collected by users in a product that involves lots of steps. That gives you enough places to capture data and target users. So, e-commerce is great! Mobile apps that are consumer-facing and, to some extent, SaaS products can use it too.
