Watch for your integration, if you have a big customer base.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In the past two years in our organization, we have been consultants for an integration between CIAM software and DotDigital. The idea is that the purpose of the CIAM is to collect user data, while DotDigital works as a marketing/engagement platform. The original customer base is millions of records worth, and we had serious issues with the integration.

Cons

  • API limits: There is a hardcoded limit on how many API calls you can make per hour, and to raise it, you have to pay.

Likelihood to Recommend

The platform is very similar to many of its competitors, and the only reason why some people chose this over others is its natural integration with Magento. For its limits, it is worth investing in an integration with another platform to save money in the long run.

We are a retail and e-commerce brand that specialises in car accessory parts, with a brand presence in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia. In Singapore specifically, we use Dotdigital as our email marketing tool—for campaign blasting, loyalty program awareness, reengagement for users, and also abandon cart browsing email targeting.

DotDigital Can Do (almost) All of It

DotDigital has been our email platform for several years now. We utilize it mainly for email campaigns, and are looking to branch out into SMS, personalization, and connecting with some of our other tools in the future. DotDigital allows us to have complete control over the emails we send to customers, from scheduled campaigns to automations.

DotDigital offers useful features and acts as both our email platform and part time CRM. We utilize the segmentation and integration capabilities regularly, such as integrating it with our search tool, Klevu, to offer personalized product recommendations in our emails. DotDigital may not be suited for larger organizations with a larger amount of segments, where the lists are limited to just 30.

Excellent piece of software, have been using it daily since 2018 and has been an integral part of our marketing strategy. Nice updates, often. Easy to use, and always successful campaigns. We have a good relationship with our customer success representative / account manager who is always quick to respond. We also have the system synchronized with our CRM Salesforce which is a big help and allows us to automate campaigns with ease.

  • sometimes the interface can change and takes us a while to find our feet

Dotdigital allows us to communicate with our clients and prospects utilizing different tools such as email marketing and the SMS function. The SMS function allows us to quickly update our clients if our system is down (we are SAAS) and the email marketing aspect allows us to reach out to potential prospects. We use both plain text and HTML emails which are both easy to create.

Dotdigital is the marketing automation platform we use for communicating with direct customers and prospects. More specifically, we use Dotdigital for database management and segmentation, email marketing (single campaigns and ongoing automated programs), SMS communication, surveys and storing customer information, multi-channel audience sharing and more. The user interface, analytics, and reporting tools make the platform easy to use and customise, as well as gain insight into customer interests and behaviour.

The built-in RFM segmentation ensures we're speaking to our customers with the right message, via the right platform, at the right time in their journey. Dotdigital offers all of the tools and features we need to enable our small team to efficiently manage our marketing and communication plans for our business. There are constantly new releases that offer additional capabilities within the platform, and the customer success managers are invested in our business and so dedicated to helping us achieve our goals that they feel like they're part of our in-house marketing team. Overall it's a pleasure to work with Dotdigital, I highly recommend it.

DotDigital offers endless options for email campaign creation, automation, and reporting. To identify our customer base, they dig into every email we send to look for statistics. We have a wide range of options to customize our campaigns, including the ability to hide sections on mobile devices. In particular, filtering out non-human interactions and

obtaining a clear picture of what your readers like is advantageous. The platform's graphical user interface (GUI) is straightforward. It was simple to sign up, and the program creator for triggered emails is candid. When we've needed it, the support has been quick and helpful.

  • Improved email results reporting are needed.
  • Learning the system and planning campaigns can take time.
  • It had issues integrating Google Analytics and lacked transactional email metrics.

DotDigital has a drag-and-drop email builder and many good templates. Using automation, I was able to send out emails with ease. During the onboarding process, you will also be able to speak with real people. We use it to create modern and engaging emails for customers, whether abandoned cart or post-purchase. It has excellent reporting modules, but it lacks a few fundamentals, which can be frustrating. As a whole, the partnership has been a success so far.
