Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use for case management at our firm. Filevine also has built in LOIS for AI help that allows us to search the entire case file at once. It also helps organize information that is in the file like having an assistant at your fingertips that has memorized the entire file and able to regurgitate it with hyperlinks to the case document to support the response. It can also summarize the information into graphs or tables or powerpoints.

Pros

  • review the file to find answer to specific questions such as what are the injuries
  • summarize medical billing and create an itemized table
  • create medical chronology of medical treatment

Cons

  • the med chron has messed up the dates before and had entries from the early 1900s which are obvious errors
  • the AI tool has cited to defense letters from adjustor to support a finding
  • It doesn't always find documents that are saved in the file if they are saved in the wrong folder

Return on Investment

  • it has saved a ton of time
  • it has allowed us to multi task much easier
  • it has been a great ROI

Filevine A Must for Case Management

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Filevine for our case management system. Our law firm handles personal injury cases and some criminal and traffic cases. Filevine assists me from beginning to end (file set up to settlement). It saves contacts, provides template letters, and computes figures for settlement. Filevine is also excellent with notifying me of deadlines, due dates, etc.

Pros

  • When doing Settlements, it correctly computes the amount and allows space to write explanation and breakdown of payments and adjustments.
  • When doing letters to insurance companies, medical care providers or to any other entity requesting information or just providing a letter of representation, all the information about the recipient is there. When I hit the generate key the letter comes out in a professional form with the correct language. Any tweaking or revisions to any letter is done with ease.

Cons

  • I would like to take a refresher course or even a beginner's course as to the basics. If there is a way to do that it would help me immensely

Return on Investment

  • A case management system is very important in doing personal injury work. Filevine as I stated earlier works from file set up to closing file

Usability

FV in reality unveiling the myth

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

FV is one of the best case management software available in the market. I use it daily for approx 5 hrs. It is user friendly, easy to understand. I like its report creation feature along with task tagging. The calendering is fantastic. And live word doc editing is next gen.

Pros

  • Oragnise the case files perfectly
  • Gives real time update with its report builder
  • Pops up task right on the date it was scheduled
  • Sharing pdf files are easy where we have reserve rights

Cons

  • Mentioning feature +@ user name feature
  • e-mail conversation linking in FV should have select all feature
  • It should have a mobile app

Return on Investment

  • Oragnise case files
  • Create task for the staff
  • Generate calendering report so that the whole firm can view the upcoming deadlines by click of one link

My View on Filevine as an Everyday User

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Filevine to handle our personal injury cases. Filevine allows us to communicate throughout the firm by posting our activities for all to see. It keeps everyone informed of what is going on. We also use the phase to keep a handle on how many cases we have in various phases.

Pros

  • I like the phases which allow us to view how many cases we have in each phase from setup to close
  • It's easy to use and requires very little training
  • I like the reports that we can generate although I think there is room for improvement in this category
  • I like that we can connect companion cases.

Cons

  • The reports generated could be more user friendly and maybe allow date ranges for the reports you want to generate
  • It seems like when we signed up for Filevine initially, we have support that would help us but now it seems like we have to do most of it ourselves based on tutorials found online

Return on Investment

  • The annual expense was really high, I think we paid around $40k for this past year.
  • I don't know how we would be operating without it. I would imagine we would be much slower in our operation without Filevine. We use it daily and the texting feature, which I believe is optional is great. I think clients love the ability to text us and we do too.
