We originally signed up with the program to help with email marketing and campaigns. Before signing up, we were not getting a lot of traffic to the website, and it would take 24-48hrs to complete an email campaign. This helped us tremendously after working with it for about six months. Our email campaigns doubled our website traffic, and we saw a 12% increase in donations in the first three months and a 20% increase by the 6th month of using the system.
Pros
Email campaigns
Email templates to choose from and edit
Great customer service
Cons
Need to improve their scheduling features
Uploading list can take a long time, I would like to have that process done faster

Using iContact, we were able to reach more people and increase our social media volume and online presence. It helps me to easily send bulk emails to my audience and potential leads with tons of email templates. Unfortunately, the email customization options are limited, and they have a limited amount of storage space.
We use iContact to send out bulk emails to our potential/customer base. We use iContact statistics to tailor our marketing campaigns.
Pros
Maintains the list of contacts.
Allows us to segment or divide our contacts up into targeted lists.
Provides a dashboard with statistics for marketing insights.
Cons
Deleting contacts is not easy and if you make a mistake it is not easy to fix.
Finding and reusing messages is not easy.
Adding/manipulating blocks is sometimes frustrating to get the look you want in a message.

If you are just creating marketing emails and sending them out, iContact works great. If you want fancy templates we think you'll need to work to make that happen. If you want a comprehensive solution this might not be for you. Definitely researching the feature set - so far for us the features have worked pretty well.
We use iContact to manage all our email communications with our 75k+ subscribers. We utilize the automated workflows for drip campaigns, welcome messages, and our monthly newsletters.
Pros
Email template design.
Workflow automation.
Scheduled delivery.
Cons
Interface can use an upgrade.
Email designer can use a fresher design too.
Would have liked to see functions we could put on our website (popups) instead of using 3rd party.

It's a workhorse for basic email management. If you are getting started in building your platform out it's pretty easy to work with. As you explore other products you may find that you wish it had more functionality. Statistics are a bit limited whereas other newer products may give you more insight into the behavior of your audience. Regardless, I was pretty satisfied with the platform.

We use iContact for all mass email communication with our union membership. It is much easier than maintaining our own mass email system and prevents us from risking blacklisting our domain. It provides many templates to choose from and allows us to create our own templates with our own style to maintain a recognizable branding.
Pros
Usability
List management
Cons
Editor needs improvement.
Likelihood to Recommend
iContact is well suited for regular contact with a list of members that is fairly stable. If your list includes people who may come on and off and back on again, it can be difficult to maintain. The service does not seem to allow the upload of purchased lists of any sort, even though legally allowed (under certain circumstances).

IContact was used in a previous engagement with a mid-sized business client. It was used only by the Marketing department to solve a couple of business challenges. They needed to be able to send email messages to a select number of contacts in a specific region in order to inform them of upcoming events and engage them for sales conversations. They needed a platform that would allow them to quickly launch ad-hoc email marketing campaigns to subscribers and identify potential opportunities based on an analysis of the results. The solution needed to be simple to use and affordable. iContact fit the requirements for this client initiative and I was in charge of implementing and managing the activities within iContact to meet our objectives.
Pros
A quick campaign creation process.
Easy to use interface.
Hundreds of attractive email templates.
Cons
There's a limited amount of storage space for images.
Their subscriber-based pricing can get high really fast.
The email customization options are limited.
Likelihood to Recommend
iContact is not the best solution for those with over 10,000 email subscribers. The lack of features does not compare to other solutions with a similar price point. This is also not ideal for those who want to have a lot of customization options when it comes to the content of their emails. However, they do offer hundreds of templates, which is a better option for those needing a quick and simple email campaign, especially where visual appeal is a priority. The email templates are very modern and sleek and would be a good fit where this is of high importance. iContact would be perfect for small business users, but mid-sized organizations may find it does not meet their needs. Enterprises are likely to have requirements that are overgrown for the iContact solution.
I regularly use iContact to communicate with my players and their parents before, during, and after the softball season. It is a great way to notify them of announcements and general communication. I add pictures from our games to add to the emails that go out. I'm already preparing my first email to announce the upcoming season.
Pros
You can get help by live chat, email or telephone.
They regularly send out tips to improve your communication with your subscribers.
They allow you to have many pictures. I have 126 and have not reached my maximum limit.
Cons
Every time you edit or sometimes open an email it brings it to the top of the list. I would prefer my email to go to the top only after I send it out to my subscribers.
When I add a new contact I sometimes copy and paste the email. This is not allowed sometimes and I have to manually type the email in.
LinkedIn will not allow you to add pictures anymore when sending emails out.
Likelihood to Recommend
iContact could be used when you want to advertise your product or service or bring up something special for your subscribers. iContact allows me to send out more emails than I desire. I send messages out sometimes weekly but never reach my maximum number allotted. iConatct would probably not be suited for small contact lists of say fifty or fewer emails.
We use iContact for email campaigns. It works well for small to medium campaigns. I have also recommended and setup the product for several other companies. The interface is pretty straight forward and it does a good job of walking you through the entire process for someone who has little experience.
Pros
Easy to use templates.
Good delivery rates.
Good customer support
Cons
Can get complicated if you do not want to use one of their templates
Larger email lists can get expensive.
Very strict rules about adding a contact who does not respond to an invite.
Likelihood to Recommend
iContact works well for small to medium companies. Larger companies with larger email lists may find that it is too expensive.

We use iContact to send out emails and monthly messages about what is happening in the business and as a communication tool for our customers. The biggest problem I think we have come across so far is getting more people to open the emails once they are sent out.
Pros
Great themes and templates that are already set up for you.
It's easy for my customers to set up or decide to decline emails.
Once emails are sent out, I'm able to view success rates and how well the emails are being received. Like how well they are doing, being opened and such.
Cons
The ways the emails are sent out come across as spam. I wish iContact info was left out of it.
Some of the editing tools are hard to navigate, and once I go from one page to the next, I have lost things that I have worked on. "Save" doesn't seem to work.
Likelihood to Recommend
I think iContact is great for small businesses starting up and trying to better manage their client base. Well suited for sending out lots of messages at one time or maybe multiple messages per month, things like that.
But I think for bigger businesses it might not be the right fit. I feel as though many people view messages coming from iContact as spam or junk mail and they are not opened or received. That can be a waste of time for the business owner or the developer.
We use iContact exclusive for email marketing, which is the primary form of marketing for our business. It is very easy to use, once you've got the hang of it, and there is excellent customer support there to help you do so. The new email builder is very intuitive and quick, and list management is second to none. We love iContact and the guidance our support representative there has helped us in honing our marketing techniques; that's really the biggest plus
