We had engaged Insperity to help with payroll and benefits administration.
Cons
Communicating policies and rules clearly.

Insperity sent an employee handbook to all my employees saying they couldn't have guns on company property without any form of consultation asking or anything. Then, in my experience, they refused to remove it and terminated our relationship.
We use Insperity for pre-employment testing and promotional moves within the company to check skills for new or current employees who want to make a change.
Pros
System is easy to use
Have tools that can be sent to managers so that they can choose the testing that works best for their position.
Easy to deal with.
Cons
We honestly don't see anything that needs a change at this point.
Likelihood to Recommend
We can test as many people as we want for the same price each year. We don't have to worry about going over our limit. The testing is accurate and provides a good indicator of how someone will perform in the role. The test results are easy for both HR professionals and managers to understand.
Insperity's marketing team miscommunicated a deadline for benifits open enrollment. As a result, I missed the enrollment period by 4 days. After being instructed to file by paper, they denied me coverage! Every attempt to work with their benifits team to rectify the issue has been unproductive. I was instructed a benifits manager would call me... they never did... and have since stopped responding to my emails.
We were promised an HR team, and we received a few phone numbers for team members who were nearly impossible to reach...
Our biggest complaint though is that, in my opinion, the user interface is very outdated and extremely difficult to use.
To be fair, we were not using the POE model that they offer but were using the self guided option.
In my opinion, the ease of use offered by basic industry names like Gusto and OnPay far outweighs any benefits you receive from using Insperity Workforce Optimization.
Pros
Onboarding Processes
Cons
In my opinion, user Interface is terrible
In my experience, HR "Team" very rarely answers the phone numbers that you are given
I think it is very expensive for what is offered
Likelihood to Recommend
We would consider using Insperity Workforce Optimization's POE model, but, in my opinion, their model that isn't POE is terrible. We're in the process of changing payroll companies to one that is way cheaper, more simple, and the UX is much easier for our GMs to use...
Small and medium size businesses beware. I don't normally write reviews, but my experience was so poor I felt obligated. In my opinion, Do NOT invest any time into investigating Insperity. They will require you to submit all of your current pricing for all of your services. They sell you on the fact that healthcare will cost less. In the end, healthcare will cost less, but they will REQUIRE you to sign-up for other services at exorbitant prices. Ultimately, it will cost you about the same. If you include the fee that goes to the salesperson it ends up costing you thousands more ($5k in my case). There tools are slow, outdated, and hard to use. The demo does not do this justice. Getting any kind of report requires a certification in Insperity. I run a tech company. I know how to navigate online tools. Insperity does not function well. Read the other reviews. In the end I left after about six months. Ultimately this will cost me more money in the short term, but I could not, in good faith, continue to give them money. In terms of cost, it is probably the most expensive option available. In terms of time, it is the MOST EXPENSIVE option. Before Insperity payroll took 30-seconds. Now payroll takes a couple of hours every week. I feel they do NOT care about you if you are a small or medium size business. They will give you hours to respond to emails or decide randomly to mail PAPER checks to your employees. The people behind the scenes DO NOT care about you from my experience, or your employees and will show you ZERO respect.
Pros
Healthcare costs are low.
Everything but healthcare is expensive.
Surface level service is acceptable, but behind the scenes service is terrible!
Cons
Pricing. Insperity is probably one of the most expensive services.
Lack of customer service.
Lack of respect for small and medium businesses.
Zero flexibility.
Software and tools are outdated.

If you are a large organization with tons of money and time to spend, Insperity is the company you need. If you are a startup and you have raised too much money, and your investors require you to burn as much capital as possible in two years, Insperity is the right company for you.
If you value time, money, or service, you need to look elsewhere. If you are a small medium-sized business, DO NOT use Insperity.
Our company uses Insperity Workforce Optimization as an incredibly strong HR team alternative. It also helps us keep track of employees clock in and out, payroll, vacation days and requests, and plenty of resources for every employee. It is used on a daily basis and it has been nothing but helpful.
Pros
keep track of clock in and out
request leave of absence
provide mental health care
Cons
if it were easier to clock in, more simple click of button
random glitches on portal
too fast on requiring log in again
Likelihood to Recommend
Insperity Workforce Optimization is well suited for specific scenarios such as when you are requesting time off. Rather than having to speak to your supervisor, you can request it so easily on Insperity with one click of a button. Since I began working, it has been easy to navigate and user friendly.

They handle a lot of items - benefits, separation agreements, payroll, etc for our US entity. If we are unsure of any legal-related items for specific cities and states, we would go to Insperity and they would have the resources to share with us that we should be aware of. They also have a learning and development platform that we are currently looking into.
Pros
Payroll Processing - they are always on time and very compliant with everything
Onboarding - new hires find it easy to complete their insperity onboarding and for the HR admin, its easy to find out what docs are still pending and what needs to be complete
Benefits - they offer a lot of options for employees. Their videos are useful as a high-level summary and their ALEX tool is REALLY great to use. Helps employees know what benefits is best suited for them
Compliance related questions - whenever we are unsure of anything in regards to compliance, they always are responsive via email and provides lots of details
Cons
When it comes to any sort of changes, we are expected to always submit an employee change form which can be a big hassle. If there was a way to change some details on the platform directly, that would save us more time. Also, some forms require wet signatures and we only find this out after we submit the first form that was e-signed. If it was made clear earlier that they had an alternative to the wet signature (such as their docusign), that would have saved us a lot of hassle and frustration on the employee's end.
Timeline of when to expect benefits - often new hires are ocnfused on when they have the option to enrol in their 401k. If there was a timeline given on when to expect all their benefit related info, that would be nice.
Pulling reports - I find the website hard to navigate and not as intuitive when looking for reports to pull from the system.

It's great for a company who doesn't have a strong knowledge in the US side and has a group of employees that work from the US. I think it is perfect for a non-US company who also has a small operations in US. Insperity helps us handle anything HR-related on the US side, so we don't have to stress about compliance and liability etc. They have a dedicated team to help us. Their customer support is also pretty useful too.

Insperity Workforce Optimization was being used for all HR functions upon my arrival to the company, including but not limited to: payroll onboarding, I-9 process, employee handbook signing, benefits including medical, dental, STD and LTD, time and attendance and HR record keeping. Prior to my assignment as an HR Consultant (Generalist) for this small company client, they were utilizing Insperity and Insperity's specialists for all of their administrative HR needs.
Pros
Payroll Administration
Cons
Cost of overall product
Cost of benefits (medical, dental, LTD, STD, other)
Sales process
Small business HR Support (State law administration and knowledge, etc)
Likelihood to Recommend
If you are a mid-sized company and have other HR support, Insperity may work for your administrative HR needs (ex. payroll, onboarding, etc). Insperity is a well known brand name and the price reflects that. However, in my opinion, there are many lower priced alternatives providing the same administrative HR services with more knowledgeable specialists.
We have been using Insperity for a few years now. They handle all of our payroll and HR department. We have great account managers that are always ready to help and respond in a timely manner.
Pros
HR issues
Making sure policies are legal
Payroll
Cons
Lower prices LOL.
Different format on website.
Sending newsletters.
Likelihood to Recommend
As we grow as a company, Insperity has been there for us, guiding us, supporting us, making sure we are in compliance, and keeping everything legal. Insperity has been very valuable to us in our growth. Even when we make a mistake in payroll, they are quick to fix the issue for us.

I would say the user interface with Insperity is poor. I've used several softwares for HR and this is by far the hardest to navigate and use. The layout is off and when trying to do something as basic as viewing a pay stub is not easy. The information housed is everything you need, just hard to view it when you do.
Pros
There is a single dashboard that is filled with a lot of information in one place.
Cons
When trying to request off you click on time & attendance and it feels like you go back in time with the layout of the site. The words used and number of clicks to get something as basic as a request off is more than usual.
Getting information that is more than what is displayed on the dashboard is not easy and takes a lot of clicking.
Likelihood to Recommend
I would say to keep searching if you find yourself considering Insperity. In the past several companies I've been at, every single HCM software has been better. I find myself not looking at information as often as I used to. I would view a paystub or look to see how many days off I have left in other roles. Here, I find the time needed to navigate that information is not worth it.
