Also there are ratings on the executives and additional information that helps to paint a more complete picture of the organization.
Pros

Cons
Maybe a little more granularity
Maybe some AI capabilities to further filter information based on usage
More competitive information in a comparative format
Likelihood to Recommend
Maybe more integrations into platforms that might be used by my organization. The other thing is sometimes I would get alerts that would repeat on a daily basis, it would be nice for it to eliminate those automatically or I could click that it was read so I don't see them again.

This information are good for Start up and provide insight to their competitors

More in-depth information as some update are very brief
Likelihood to Recommend

Owler is a great tool for prospecting. In multiple roles where I've used their platform I've been able to expand my prospecting base by approaching businesses across an entire vertical that share a similar space with either a prospect I've landed, or a prospect that I received a "no" from.
Pros
Useful Daily Reports
Competitive Analysis
Prospecting
Cons
Making Custom Lists A Part Of The Plus Plan
Likelihood to Recommend
Owler is best used as a supplemental asset, as it allows you to get very granular on specific prospects. I believe its limitations lie in the fact that while you can see the competitive companies, it's difficult to get any prospecting information out of them ie., contacts, without going for the highest level plan.
Owler is being extensively within my department along with other tools for company research. It is very helpful as it gives a lot of information about a company. It can be a very useful tool if one knows how to utilize it. We fetch the revenue, headcount, competitors and latest news about the company from Owler.
Pros
Gives revenue and headcount of the company
Gives an analysis of the competitors of a company
Provides latest news about the company that helps a lot in research
Cons
The information provided is useful but at times the variation with other websites and tools is substantial which makes it difficult to rely solely on owler
Information only about bigger companies is available not for smaller and research on smaller ones are important as there are not many tools that do that
There are few companies that appear as defunct or do not exist but in the actual market there is a lot going on with them and being in market intelligence industry owler needs to capture that
It would be great if they provide revenue or growth of the in the past three years or so. As it would save our time and efforts to some extent
They need to maintain the database in aperiodic manner with precise information
Likelihood to Recommend
Owler is one of the tools that we use for company research. it gives great competitive analysis and news of company at one place but since it doesn't contain small company research and precise revenue and few other details the reliability on it is in question. If one has to gather a rough idea about a company then Owler will come in handy however a detailed in-depth analysis requires consulting multiple tools.
Signed up for Owler for market research. I am a commercial insurance broker in Las Vegas, focused on risk management for general contractors and specialty trade construction. My ideal client has roughly 20-200 employees, and $2-15 million in revenue annually.
Owler did not address any problems. Upon searching for 10 mid-sized companies that I am already familiar with as a test, all 10 had "incomplete profiles." As well, those with "estimated employee and revenue totals" were wildly inaccurate.
For example, 2 mid-to large companies that I am in touch with with employee counts of 100-250 are left blank in Owler. I am also in talks with a business owner who has 130 employees, but it is listed on Owler as 34 employees.
Pros
Potentially good source of market research for large companies with 1000+ employees.
Cons
Very limited information.
Inaccurate information, wildly misleading.
It is not user friendly for searching.
Likelihood to Recommend
Owler provides very limited information - they are unable to properly gather and assess company data, and when they do, they provide inaccurate information.
Owler is a resource being used across my organization, primarily by those conducting due diligence processes for potential investments. Owler helps to address the information deficit that can sometimes arise when diligencing small companies. Owler, however, is valuable to use in my organization's researching process for all types of companies, large and small, across a variety of industries.
Pros
Owler enables the user to quickly find the data and information that he or she needs.
I appreciate the customizable dashboard where you can set alerts and track companies you select.
The latest news regarding the funding rounds of startup companies is especially helpful.
The top competitors to companies provided by Owler often give me a great point of reference for my competitive analysis.
Cons
Owler often does not provide all of the information I need or am looking for about a company.
The information on Owler can be inaccurate, almost undoubtedly a result of the user-generated content that is displayed about companies. Owler should have a more rigorous verification process for user submissions.
The lack of data integrity can cause me to waste unneccessary time attempting to see whether some crucial data points are accurate.
Likelihood to Recommend
Owler is best suited for becoming knowledgeable on a company in a short amount of time. If one needs to become acquainted with an unfamiliar company say, for a call or meeting, Owler is great. Owler is also helpful for more rigorous, in-depth analysis of companies and their competitors. I do not use Owler exclusively for my data and information sourcing, however, as I have found the information on Owler to be inaccurate at times.

Owler is used to provide sales intelligence into the prospect we are about to contact. This enables us to learn more about their personality and determine their best needs and ways to communicate. Some of the sales department use it, and it gives additional insight before a conversation begins with a prospect.
Pros
Personality assessment
Communication Recommendations
Cons
Detailed reports
Saving of profiles
Likelihood to Recommend
Owler is well suited for cold calling. This will allow the employee to gain a little bit of insight into who they are calling and how to best communicate. Owler can also be used to learn how to close a deal and what ways could connect with a person.
We use Owler on our Sales and Marketing teams to keep tabs on our named accounts and industry news. It is a great "dynamic" rss feed that doesn't require a great deal of manual work, and the manual work that it does require is pretty simple and light. Great to help us stay up to date on industry news and arms us with good background info for sales/marketing outreach.
Pros
Great industry info.
Really good industry- or company-specific rss feed.
Love the funding/merger/acquisition alerts that we get on companies and portfolios that we follow. Often even more timely than Crunchbase since it's based on press releases rather than Crunchbase's data team reaching out to VCs to get their portfolio updates.
Pretty good firmographic data on companies (# of employees, ann. revenue, website, c-suite members, etc.).
We get all these great benefits for free!
Cons
Sometimes the email alerts, industry info, and other stuff Owler sends out is less relevant because it casts a wide net. You ensure you get just about everything this way, but it does mean more filtering/sifting on your part. Really not a big deal though.
Like I said before, it does take some manual setup work, though it's not terribly difficult. It's simple to do, but having to update your preferences each time you want to follow another company can get tedious. I imagine that Salesforce integrations and paid versions solve this problem.
Likelihood to Recommend
Owler is great if you are wanting regular updates on specific companies or industries. You get funding/merger/acquisition updates, press release updates, competitor updates, and more. You can also use Owler to get company data for data enrichment. It is a fantastic tool to use to get a crash-course background on a company to arm you in your outreach and sales efforts. It also offers a fair amount of integrations.
