Overall Satisfaction with Owler
Owler is a resource being used across my organization, primarily by those conducting due diligence processes for potential investments. Owler helps to address the information deficit that can sometimes arise when diligencing small companies. Owler, however, is valuable to use in my organization's researching process for all types of companies, large and small, across a variety of industries.
- Owler enables the user to quickly find the data and information that he or she needs.
- I appreciate the customizable dashboard where you can set alerts and track companies you select.
- The latest news regarding the funding rounds of startup companies is especially helpful.
- The top competitors to companies provided by Owler often give me a great point of reference for my competitive analysis.
- Owler often does not provide all of the information I need or am looking for about a company.
- The information on Owler can be inaccurate, almost undoubtedly a result of the user-generated content that is displayed about companies. Owler should have a more rigorous verification process for user submissions.
- The lack of data integrity can cause me to waste unneccessary time attempting to see whether some crucial data points are accurate.
- Owler has enabled those in my organization to demonstrate their knowledge on companies to clients without spending too much time working to procure information from various sources.
- Owler contributes to a more comprehensive analysis of companies when making investment decisions.
- Owler can be frustrating to use and inefficient as a result of a lack of robust data quality measures.
- S&P Capital IQ, Crunchbase and PitchBook
Owler is comparable to both Crunchbase and PitchBook when looking to gather information on companies. Owler, however, is superior in areas of providing top competitors and insight into very small companies. I use S&P Capital IQ in tandem with Owler as it augments Owler well and can be more reliable with its data, but not necessarily as inclusive regarding its breadth of companies. Owler is better used for private company research than S&P Capital IQ.
