The product has been widely used by various organizations for the development and testing automation of web applications. Specifically, it has been valuable for regression testing and API testing. Users have found that the product helps automate tedious repetitive tasks, significantly cutting down on test time during QA cycles. One notable advantage is the ease of learning, allowing users to quickly pick up the necessary skills to use the product effectively.

During the evaluation phase, customers have praised the responsive customer support provided by Telerik/Progress. This has been particularly helpful in getting the product into production. The QA department of many organizations has utilized this product to automate regression tests for their cloud solution portfolio. By enabling efficient test automation, manual testing efforts have been replaced, resulting in improved productivity and quicker delivery of new software enhancements to customers.

Overall, this product has proven to be a valuable asset for organizations seeking to boost performance, release bug-free software, and streamline their testing processes.

The user-friendly interface has made it effortless for users to navigate through the software and perform various tasks efficiently. Efficient Regression Testing: Several reviewers have praised the product for its efficiency in regression testing. It significantly reduces test time, allowing testers to automate functional QUI tests easily. This feature has been a game-changer for many users as they can quickly analyze test results and generate graphical reports for all their tests. The ability to cut down on manual testing work considerably ensures that bugs are kept out of production. Time-Saving Element Repository: A notable feature mentioned by numerous reviewers is the element repository, which saves valuable time when making changes to the interface. Users find it convenient to access this repository as it provides a collection of elements that can be reused across different tests. Progress Test Studio [is a] feature-rich tool that we are using in our entire organization for test automation. We do [automation] that includes functional testing, [and] API Testing. The best feature is load testing, [but] sometimes we do manual. Prior to this tool, we used to do manual testing, which takes a lot of time to test different scenarios [delaying ]production releases. To overcome these challenges, we started [using] this tool, [which] really helped us to boost our performances and release bug-free production.
  • Easy to configure.
  • Plugins can be integrated easily with visual studio.
  • Takes less time to run all the test scenarios, [and] also generates graphics report for all the tests.
  • Keeps bugs [out of] the production.
  • Cost is very high.
  • It takes time to load the application; improvement needed.
I would recommend using this tool for test automation.
  • It's having the platform to perform test cases for windows or desktop, Web applications, and manual. which is basically required in our organization because we developed all kinds of applications.
  • We are very satisfied to using this tool.
  • Application deployment on time.
  • stakeholders are very satisfied.
We did not use any other product for test automation prior to this we used to do manual testing.

Great experience over all. Telerik/Progress was very responsive to questions in the beginning when evaluating the product. Great online help for getting the product into production. Test Studios is an easy product to learn and can be picked up relatively fast.

The product has cut down on our test time during our QA cycles
  • Great for Regression testing
  • Cut down on test time
  • Mobile test compatibility and ease of use
The product is easy to learn and any customer making web based application will greatly benefit from a product like this and cut down on testing time. As new code builds go out it's an excellent tool for regression testing. The load testing feature has a great benefit as well and lets us test the limits of the application on different platforms and allows us to tweak the certain area and test again.
  • Mobile side in the begin had issues getting better with each release
Test Studios had a smaller foot print and allowed us to ease into deploying it in the company. The online help was a great benefit to getting started and the evaluation period allowed us to fully run though the product before purchasing it. Cost difference between the products was a big decision factor as well for the type of deployment we were looking for.

Currently being used for development of testing automation of web applications. It is being used by the QA Department to help us on tedious repetitive tasks that can be automated. It is mainly used for regression testing. We are also considering to use it for API testing and from my initial tests it is looking good.
  • Very user-friendly interface.
  • The element repository is a great feature and really help us save time when the interface is changed.
  • C# or VB.net can be used to edit code making it even easier for those who have previous knowledge on such languages.
  • The coding IDE is a tad slow compared to Visual Studio.
  • Quite expensive, but there are several features that make up for the price.
It is very good for testers who have little coding experience but are willing to learn. It is very good for regression testing and really helps us identify issues that could have been a detriment to our end users. It is also great to keep track of the performance of pages across time.
  • Saved us a lot of time in manual testing, and therefore man hours.
Very easy to record both http/https pages and supports all major browsers. Test Element repository is the killer feature that gives you piece of mind and confidence to write and reuse elements for several different scenarios. The built-in testing framework which also includes the .NET Framework Library. Integration with Jira. Supports source control such as GIT and Team Foundation.

Test Studio is being by one of our business units to support quicker delivery of new software enhancements to our customers.
  • The user interface is really user friendly and non intimidating even for less technical personnel.
  • Recording of test makes it really easy to capture test steps in a natural way.
  • The ability to link multiple test together and re-use test is a great feature.
  • The user documentation and training materials seem to be outdated a bit.
  • Integration with newer version control systems such as VSTS is buggy.
Test Studio has a very clean user interface experience and makes user acceptance of the tool easier to a less technical audience. For smaller applications, where simple use of the test recorder and playback seems like a great use of this tool.
  • We have been able to release new version of software more rapidly from using this tool.
  • It has allowed us to scale our test coverage without increasing staff.
  • TestingWhiz and ranorex
Testing features between the different tools we evaluated seemed to be fairly equal but the user interface, using other products within the Progress suite of products, and the cost of Test Studio lead us to our decision.
