Having a strong background on Oracle Databases, Microsoft SQL Server is pretty simple to use. There are fewer options and some behaviour (like writers blocking readers) require an adaptation, but overall Microsoft SQL Server is an excellent product that has been adding features in the last 15 years, making it a database engine easy to use but powerful at the same time.

SQL Server is very user-friendly and easy to use. The wizard and setup are straight forward. Development codes are free and can be outsourced. The IT community are very helpful when it comes with codes. In this SQL server stands out because a lot of people and company are using it.

For the easy queries and on the fly results that are easily exportable to Excel and then used for graphing, pivot charts. It can also export nicely to other reporting systems like Crystal.

Because MS SQL Server is easy RDMS and secures at the same time. Also, MS SQL Server is a Distributed Transactional Tool. The Support is always On, Documentation and Learning are always active. Around the world, Microsoft has a lot of partnerships that can help if it is necessary to have an expert. Microsoft always has upgrades.

SQL Server mostly 'just works' or generates error messages to help you sort out the trouble. You can usually count on the product to get the job done and keep an eye on your potential mistakes. Interaction with other Microsoft products makes operating as a Windows user pretty straight forward. Digging through the multitude of dialogs and wizards can be a pain, but the answer is usually there somewhere.
