I am in my company's People Analytics department, and Visier People is essential to everything that we do! We use Visier People every day. We use Visier People to enable our partners to view and digest powerful visuals, as well as a hub for all people data such as raw exports, essential metrics, and much more!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Visier People to house and display all of our people data. We have now expanded our Visier data from just teammate and movement data to include all TA , compensation, and L&D data, and soon to include engagement data. This has allowed for our end users to really own and use their data themselves, opening capacity on my team to do real analysis. Visier People also is a great tool for visualization; allowing for many different types of charts + different ways to customize them, and easy ways for all users to create analyses to reference in the future.

  • way to create custom 'view details' list for individual user groups -- we have a lot of attributes in our detailed export and it would be nice to be able to create a condensed list for each different type of user group
  • Way to see which charts in an analysis are using different dimension -- similar to how we can see which dimensions are being used throughout the analysis, it would be nice to see by dimension, which charts are using each. This would make it much easier to update analyses when we need to create a new version of a dimension

Visier People is a great tool for visualizing data, but also exporting data to be able to do further analysis. With that, it provides many capabilities to be able to go back and reference charts or tables that you may need in the future -- capture, building/copying analyses, data exports. Visier People is less appropriate for doing actual analysis. It can create basic charts and tables, but there is no functionality to do real analysis in the platform. For example, creating calculations based on different metrics in the platform, statistical analysis/charting, pivoting.

Well suited to pull data based on metrics and filters applied. Less appropriate for employees who rarely use it and attempt to draw insights. Implementing some AI integration to describe what is happening in a chart would be helpful and add safeguards to prevent misinterpretation

Visier People is an incredible tool that helps us pinpoint various risk factors within the organization, such as overtime abuse, which costs the organization millions. It has highlighted process problems where line managers would approve overtime regardless of its accuracy. Visier People also identified the need for stricter controls to prevent fraud. For example, the source system should prohibit staff from submitting overtime worked on public holidays when the organization is closed, limit claims to a maximum of 40 hours of overtime per month, and disallow rollovers, preventing claims for overtime worked five months prior.

  • In South Africa we have Employment Equity and displaying that information is very difficult and it is quite complex
  • It would be nice to easily plug in external data sources in an easier way - like with PowerBI to assist with even further analyses
  • I have not been able to do a bell curve type chart - I do however have the option to log this as an enhancement
  • It would be nice to have more functionality on predictions

In our organization, we frequently undergo structural changes, and with 50,000 employees, this can be quite challenging. Visier People has the capability to display both the current and 'To-Be' structures graphically, which is incredibly helpful. It can also map career paths for staff, and we are currently cleaning up our data to use this functionality optimally. Visier People has significantly assisted us in consolidating all our learning data into one place. We currently integrate information from four different source systems, and Visier People is the only tool that can effectively display this data. It excels at telling the story of business problems, identifying where issues lie using benchmarks and thresholds, and recommending solutions. One of Visier People's strengths is its ability to indicate when further analysis is needed, such as a Gender Pay Gap analysis. For deeper analyses, like examining gender pay gaps or biases in performance ratings, we typically use PowerBI. However, we have not yet fully utilized Visier People's predictive capabilities, such as forecasting the likelihood of employee resignations.

Visier People provides integrated insights about the workforce at scale across the organisation. It's open platform allows for integrating data from domains outside of HR to link people insights to business outcomes. It allows business users to create their own custom analysis based on questions they need to answer without any technical / IT involvement.

I use Visier People for me and other stakeholders in my organization to quickly and accurately see key people metrics and progress. This includes retention, turnover, hiring progress, and tenure among other things. It also serves as an easy place to export teammate information based on specific filters like job code, cost center, start date, or other identifier.

I would suggest Visier People to other people in my organization because of it's ease of use and consistency at how people can pull key metrics. If they are unfamiliar with Visier, it is easy to walk them through how to use it and set them up for success in the future. I also love that everybody can set up their own analyses to frequently access data that is most important to their work.

You can easily integrate it with various data sources which includes payroll databases and HR systems to get a compressive view of the workforce 3. It also generates compliance reports on a day-to-day basis in order to meet the legal requirements of the workforce data 4. Visier People can also be used for training and development programs to provide training to the employees in order to ensure employees acquire the necessary skills in order to meet the business needs as per the latest market demand.

Visier People is being used within my organization to manage the workforce as it's a bit difficult to manage such a large workforce using traditional software. It is being used to track HR metrics, analyze trends, and make data-driven decisions. This tool is a valuable tool for my organization's HR department and Business Leaders so that they can get complete insight for making more strategic and informed decisions regarding workforce and HR practices. It is less appropriate in the case of small-scale organization due to the expensive cost and pricing models which is not flexible enough to accommodate the budgets of smaller organization.
