Use Cases and Deployment Scope

As everyone transitioned to working from home with the pandemic, we jump-started our process to update our VOIP technology to 8x8. This allows our entire team to work remotely while still being 100% functional for our clients. Additionally, the 8x8 system allows us to stay in touch with each other and communicate more efficiently and effectively with each other.

Pros and Cons

Seamless operations.
Can determine who's on a call vs. available.
Can text and chat.
Can conference call.
Variability and scalability of the product.
Offers a mobile phone app and computer-based app in addition to a desk phone.

Customization sometimes needs to be done on a per-user basis. This makes it tedious if there are a lot of users.
The system went down within the first 2 weeks, causing us to rebuild the users into the system.

It's kept us in front of our clients, which is crucial in these times of the pandemic.

It's well suited to anyone needing an office-based phone system for a small to medium-sized company. It can work both in an office setting but is also very valuable (more so, I think) in those situations where the employees/partners are scattered over a larger geographic region. The phone offers a plug-in and operational quality. I can also use it on my mobile phone or on the computer just as easily. I'm not sure where the system is less appropriate.
