Overall Satisfaction with Acquia Platform
I had previously consulted and maintained a niche news publication site on Acquia. It was used by the marketing department to drive traffic for education equine enthusiasts and advertising products and services of the equine supplement technology company and their partners. The site provided news, educational and research content for the equine industry.
Pros
- Simplifies installation of Drupal sites with one-click installations.
- Development, staging, and production environments for a best-practice web development.
- Access to git repos, databases, and backups that are all managed within the interface.
Cons
- Continuous integration, code testing.
- Additional access options.
- I wasn't in charge of the costs, however, Acquia provides more granular and immediate control of the charges - instead of a flat monthly cost.
Cost - Acquia provides more granular control of the costs.
Interface - Acquia interface is a bit cleaner, although Patheon may have a few more features.
