Overall Satisfaction with Workday Adaptive Planning

Adaptive is being used across a department within one of our Divisions. Adaptive allows us to prepare and project our monthly Forecast and annual Budget. The Adaptive built-in reports are key for our department to analyse the evolution of our forecast and the comparison with our budget. Furthermore it gives you a tool to control the projection of our intercompany recharges.
  • Flexibility
  • Ease of use
  • Intergration with other tools (SAP, SAP FC, Excel)
  • Reporting
  • Formatting of the built-in reports
  • Performance should be inproved for larger datasets
  • Dashboard improvements. Formatting and the option to integrate reports
  • Better integration with Workday
  • Data traceability
  • Save down different versions
  • Interface to our consolidation tool for forecast and budget
Our previous tool for Forecasting and Budgeting was Microsoft Excel and for sure Adaptive stacks up when we compare both ways. Just to mention the data traceability, configurability and time saving that Adaptive Insights has brought to our department.
Easy to integrate with ERP such as SAP thanks to their API interface. Importing to Adaptive is smooth and easy to configure. Also when exporting to another application is needed, well suited interfaces can be built to fulfill any needs. After our migration to SAP, we tried to change our organisational e-structure and move some cost centers from a level folder to another. That causes a loss of historical data and until today I am not sure if there is a safe way to do something like that.

Planning, Alignment, and Use

After assessing the existing systems architecture and taking the time to understand the goals ofthe finance team, the implementor was ready to get to work.Using their knowledge and experience, they designed a bespoke solution structured to meet the needs of our financial planning team. Within eight weeks, the new system was fully functional, and all necessary training was complete. By clearly explaining how the solution worked, offering specialist supervision and support whenever required, the implementor provided a practical, easy-to-navigate system.
Adaptive
has an Integration solution which allows us to connect to almost any data
source. The tool is really flexible allowing multiple methods to integrate. The integration framework acts as a secure bridge for importing data and metadata from different data sources into Adaptive Planning. Data sources can include spreadsheets, databases, and cloud-based or on-premises systems. You can filter, clean, map, and merge the information coming from these sources to eliminate potential import errors.

Yes - The implementation was managed using a managed using a agile-style

The implementor divided the project in different packages. Once a package prototype is
built, it will be demoed to the customer, who will provide their feedback, so the implementor can finalise the build and demo again. Sometimes a couple of iterations are needed.

SQL Server was SSL encrypted using a certificate provided by customer.

A view was created in the SQL Server which contains all the
relevant data required in Adaptive.
