Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat
Adobe Acrobat is a pivotal piece of equipment that our staff utilize while working with student IEP paperwork - as it allows them to easily edit documents, as well as combine them with others to comply with state and federal laws. Our district has deployed this as a part of our default software to all staff members upon hire.
Pros
- Editing PDF Files
- Converting other document file types to PDF
- Deleting selected pages from PDF files
- Small install size - and light on system resources
Cons
- Adobe moving to the Creative Cloud desktop software forces end-users to update the software what feels like several times a week.
- Deployment packages that are created in the cloud can only be downloaded within 24-48 hours, before it needs to be re-packaged again.
- Per Seat Cost
- Ease of Managing users
- Easy to log in to via web browser credentials
- All PDF features that are available within the suite
- Streamlined the software needed for all employees to be able to have access to creating and editing files without going to a single person to do so for them
- I'm in charge of deploying the software, so I'm unsure of the amount of time saved for us - as I don't spend time looking into that across our twelve buildings.
- Ease of Use
- Other
The single most important factor is that familiarity our staff have with the product - as we have been using it for over a decade. Thankfully, even with all of the licensing changes Adobe has made with its suite of products - Adobe Acrobat has still kept its core interfaces familiar to users. We very rarely have to teach new users how the software works - because it's all laid out nicely.
Our data has been safe with them - as we've never been a part of a breech due to their software/systems. So, we're happy with how they're doing things.
N/A. We've been using Adobe for a decade

Using Adobe Acrobat
200 - Editing PDF documents for student IEP legal paperwork.
3 - Our helpdesk team is here to support staff that need it. Very rarely do tickets come in regarding being helped with Adobe Acrobat, though. The software is very simplistic, and our entire staff have been using it for several years now.
- Reading/Editing/Converting PDF documents
- Requesting E-Signatures from legal guardians/parents/staff
- Searchability within an already created document for specific words/terms
- Some staff will utilize the Adobe app on ipads to get parent signatures in remote locations - no computer needed.
- I feel like we are utilizing the software to it's potential across our entire organization.
