Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat

As a sole proprietor working in the accounting industry, what I use Adobe Acrobat for 1) managing client documents, such as combining PDF, rotating pages, and adding components (e.g. headers) to an existing PDF. 2) Data extraction - accountant need to do a lot of those to save data entry time when possible. 3) Also I need to be able to sign and request e-signature to and from clients.
The idea is to increase efficiency and have a better client communication (while maintaining security and privacy of the document.)

Pros

  • Unlimited E-signatures - don't have to worry about envelop limit
  • Allowing adding passwords to documents
  • provide audit trails when requesting e-signatures from clients.

Cons

  • Interface is horrible - each function is divided into different portion of the app
  • Interfact for adding password onto client document
  • A completely different experience to upload and sign my own document comparing to being the receiving of Adobe Acrobat e-signatures
  • Slow - could be faster
  • Positive - widely accept e-signature provider
  • Trusted Security (as long as password is added.)
  • Cloud strorage for document is a plus.
  • Decrease operating efficiency or productivity if trying to use it for PDF management purpose.
  • Cloud Solutions
Unfortunately just one - the e-signature service.
For an accountant's point of view, there is nothing else stand out that other PDF software doesn't have.

Provide peace of mind when it comes to e-signature by allowing to add password protections. I actually have been searching for this functionality in the beginning. To be fair, as an one-man army who does everything himself, having Adobe security feature helps me meet clients' expectation (widely known and accepted) without extra work of managing documents sharing between me and clients. It allows me to focus more on the actual work.
Adobe Acrobat excel at its e-signature capabilities. This beats both Foxit and Power PDF. However, it lacks native integration with accounting-specific tools like TaxFolder. TaxFolder allow one-click from tax software itself to send out signature request. Way more efficient. However, to client, TaxFolder isn't as user firendly for e-signature (does not allow signed by typing) We have clients unable to access due to MFA and they in Canada. They acutally do prefer AdobeSign for a smoother signing experience.

Do you think Adobe Acrobat delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Adobe Acrobat's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Acrobat live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Adobe Acrobat go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Adobe Acrobat again?

Yes

AdobeSign is probably the only reason I would recommend to a colleague.

My colleague actually subscribe both e-signature service. One for general personal tax client due to the other signature provider is able to integrate its service to our software. We are only using Adobesign for foreign clients.

I actually bought POWER PDF to even though Adobe Acrobat can do the same thing. I think PowerPDF is much more user friendly.
