Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat

I work for a local government agency. I am on a team of people who address the accessibility needs of the organization. I am located in Colorado. As of July 1, we have advised ALL of our employees to stop posting PDFs to our website because it is too costly and inconvenient to remediate them all. We are posting live Google docs instead wherever possible.

Pros

  • Creates what people perceive as un-editable documents
  • Forms
  • Signatures

Cons

  • Making WCAG standard accessible documents EASILY
  • Form creating could be easier
  • The WCAG checker could be easier to understand (color coded maybe?)
  • increased costs of remediating with a third party
  • increased cost of time to remediate
  • Cloud Solutions
  • Scalability
  • Integration with Other Systems
  • Ease of Use
wish this was more user-friendly to check for accessibility issues
our employees believe that PDF documents are the least likely to be edited ie. most secure, which is positive.
similarly, InDesign's process to make documents accessible is really complicated and not user friendly

Accessibility is front of mind, and we cannot afford to have all of our documents remediated. We are recommending our employees to just simply not use this product.
