Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat DC

I am an engineer, and all final documents and engineering drawings are submitted to clients in pdf format using Adobe Acrobat DC. Adobe Acrobat DC documents are easily openable on all platforms, making them easy to share. All the building departments require pdf submissions of electronic papers. Digital signing is integrated into the software. Results for all the software programs we use can be easily printed as a pdf document.
  • digital signatures
  • easily sharable
  • makes the document easy to lock
  • integrating forms into documents
  • it is cumbersome to create a www link within the document
  • sometimes editing a pdf can be difficult - it almost seems to have a mind of its own with fonts shifting or not being editable
  • for some documents the Find command does not locate all the instances of a word.
  • sharability
  • document signing
  • ease of use
  • Improved security compliance. I don't know if any other solution exists for document sharing and digital signing, and have never felt the need to explore any further
  • In my industry it really is a necessity - we couldn't operate without it
  • It allow me to produce professional quality easily sharable documents
This is really a key function of Adobe Acrobat DC. I am able to share and access documents create in DC on my desktop, iPhone, Andriod, MacBook, etc with no loss of integrity.
My engineering documents must be digitally signed. All building departments will only accept pdf documents. My perceived understanding of this is its universal accessibility, but more so its strong commitment to security. I would be very cautious opening a word document off the internet; however, would not hesitate to view a pdf.
Microsoft Word used to be my workhorse; however, now I only use it on very rare occasions. I am not a writer and if I were this review would read differently. I create technical documents using an array of software and the final submission of all documents is always a pdf document. Adobe Acrobat DC has additional features that allow me to easily add form fields to any document, send documents for signature, etc. There was a time when I tried to force some of these tasks using MS Word, but my necessary tasks quickly surpassed Word's capabilities.

Do you think Adobe Acrobat delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Adobe Acrobat's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Acrobat live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Adobe Acrobat go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Adobe Acrobat again?

Yes

Amongst my colleagues, all documents we share are in pdf format. Each engineering discipline uses specific software, and it would not be practical, for example, to send an *.EGC file to a client for review as the software to open that type of file is specific to my profession and others would most likely not have that software; however, they would have access to a free pdf reader. For word processing, I would not recommend Adobe Acrobat DC to compose a document but would recommend printing the final version as a pdf. I also believe pdfs are less apt to be carrying a computer virus.
