Enhanced Efficiency While Enforcing a Paperless Environment
Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat DC
I frequently use Acrobat DC to edit documents, combine documents, and create my own documents. I try to push other users to use Acrobat DC to its full capabilities in order to become a more paperless environment. I have taught a class for some of our staff in order to show all of the options that Acrobat has. I showed the HR department that they have the ability to redact specific information that cannot be shared. I have taught our AP and AR departments how to simply edit and add text to a document instead of printing the document, writing the GL codes on the document, and then rescanning it back into the computer for other users. Acrobat DC helps keep clarity within the document. Many users are not aware of the range of use there is with Acrobat DC. I encourage them to visit the site for tutorials to make their job easier. I feel like Acrobat DC has helped me to work more efficiently and effectively. In this day in age it is important to get up-to-date training on software that keeps companies competitive.
Pros
- I am able to add text directly to a document without having to print it out to write on it.
- I can alter the text appearance to be the font I want , the size I want and I can align it.
- I like to be able to create fillable forms (prepare feature) so we can be a digitally operating company.
- I like to be able to redact certain information from my documents that are not supposed to be viewed by everyone.
Cons
- I like to have several documents open at once. Acrobat has a tendency to not want to perform when too many are open.
- I like to keep Acrobat open for the duration with one or more documents that I am or will be using. If the connection is lost, data will be lost and I end up with a blank pdf.
- I would like to see a font size default for each page that is open. If I have my normal default size set at 12 but inside the doc decide to use 9, I would like for the size to stay at 9 until I change it back.
- OCR will sometimes distort the information in bazaar ways, so I would prefer OCR to not automatically run when I decide to edit a document.
- The editing capability
- Adding text to documents
- Redacting specific information
- Preparing forms to be fillable
- Converting documents for compatibility reasons.
- Combining several pdfs to one document
- Adding a signature
- A specific level of efficiency is reached when there is clarity within a document. By being able to add our own information to a document we are able to spend less time trying to decipher handwritten notes.
- We have cut down on the amount of paper that is being used.
- We have requested remittance advice notes for ACH payments from customers in PDF format to cut down on checks being mailed. Thus enhances the security with less stolen or lost checks.
- Less time is spent walking back and forth to a printer because our daily tasks can be completed within the Acrobat DC application.
Google is a more simplistic way of creating and editing. The very basic tools are available to alter or enhance the document. Adobe Acrobat is a little more user-friendly and provides many more ways to enhance a document. Tools are more visible and easily accessed within the app. I might be partial to Adobe products but I feel like I am switching from using Android to Apple when trying to navigate a google form.
