Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Captivate

I am using Adobe Captivate to create demos to teach students and faculty how to use different software packages and our college learning management system. This software is being mainly used by our Educational Technology and Information Resource Management departments. These demos allow people to take training and retake/review training on their own time without having to come to a conference or training classroom. They can do it online from their computer or phone anywhere in the where.
  • Easy to use to record your computer
  • Easy to use to include closed captions
  • Easy to use to create interactive activities
  • Easy to use to edit your voice recordings
  • Not as easy to recreate demos for multiple device types. It is possible but you have to keep resizing objects for them to fit on screen.
  • Cost. This is a great program, but it also has a high end price.
  • Captivate has helped us create online courses that teach our faculty how to teach online courses.
  • Captivate has helped our students learn how to complete assignments and use tools inside of our LMS.
Captivate is like Camtasia on steroids. I do like the way Camtasia does Closed Captions. It is easier in Camtasia than in Captivate. Both other than that Captivate gives you way more options in designing your videos.
Captivate is great for creating demos to teach people how to do things.
