Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Experience Manager
AEM is our primary CMS for our public facing marketing websites for many of the Morgan Stanley properties. We use AEM to create scale-able experiences to promote our products and solutions, drive customer logins to our platforms. I am the Product Owner for one of the AEM instances at the firm and cover a small dev team as well as the content ops.
Pros
- CMS functionality and website management
- Development best practices for AEM and components
- References panel for easy access to AEM references
Cons
- Reliability of the Page Preview links as many times the ?wcmmode drops during login and confuses audiences not familiar
- A more robust reporting capabilities to build a proper content inventory reporting and monitoring (publish status, compliance status etc)
- Touch UI while still newer feels like the 90's
- It's brought a more cohesive approach to managing our content and allowing Authoring teams to do their work but work with managers to publish it.
- The core components give us a running start with Adobe backed testing for priority features
- If I needed it - MSM would be an amazing feature to simplify management of sites
