Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Express

I am a digital Content creator who uses it daily to create daily social media posts for our nonprofit. It allows for our communications team of 3 to work together to create the content we need to put out. The shared scheduling calendar was a total game changer for our teams workflow. It also allows our newer intern to get familiar with the Adobe suite as a whole instead of throwing her into illustrator or InDesign right out the gate.

Pros

  • Shared Calendar
  • Scheduler
  • Audio selection
  • CC libraries integration
  • Asset library

Cons

  • An ability to edit and approve social media posts in the scheduler by higher ups before they go out. We currently have to use a third party for this.
  • Audio is always so loud, especially for social media.
  • YouTube shorts would be an amazing addition to social media options.
  • Positive: Time and working for a nonprofit with minimal staff this is essential.
  • Negative: There are certain features that I need to find in other Adobe products like layer masking.
  • Positive: It makes content creation less intimidating for our newer staff.
I love the stock photos and design assets. I don't usually use templates because we have our own, but the design assets are amazing and so well built out compared to 4 years ago when I started using Adobe Express.
So easy to use. And some of the features, like grouping short cuts are the same as other Adobe programs so it is helpful for our newer staff to learn those skills now so it will be easy to translate that into their skills in other Adobe applications.
It is super effective in terms of time saving capabilities. I love that I don't have to create alternative art boards and resize all the assets. I especially like the resizing with automatic generation. This is super helpful when talking a flyer from a community event and translating it for applications like Instagram that doesn't allow for 8.5 x 11 sized images.
Our team was avid Canva users for 2 years prior to switching over to Adobe Express. I found Adobe Express to be much more user friendly and less complicated visually. I also LOVE the CC libraries integration. That was a game changer for our creative department. It made making content across the Adobe suite SEEMLESS! I would never go back and encourage people all the time to move away from Canva. Although I do wish Adobe offered a free Adobe Express account for nonprofits like they do for students and educators. Canva has the upper hand there.

Our nonprofit makes our annual reports in house. They average 40 pages or so. Adobe Express is not great for document building, but it is great for annual report ideation. It is also very well suited for making social media posts, especially reels. There are still times though when I need more animation control of my reels and create in Adobe After Effects.
