Overall Satisfaction with ADP SmartCompliance

We use ADP SmartCompliance as ADP deposits and files our taxes; Federal, State, and Local. In order to access our tax returns and enter information for taxes (new municipality/state/etc.) we must utilize ADP SmartCompliance. ADP SmartCompliance is also where we manage our uncashed/refunded checks and garnishment payments. Since we decided to use ADP for these things we must use ADP SmartCompliance.

Pros

  • Submitting notices from agencies for taxes

Cons

  • When you submit an agency notice there is no opportunity for discussion. You can write a note, but then ADP sends you the outcome and you cannot talk to them about it. This has led me to have to create multiple cases multiple times.
  • They just changed where to access refunded stale-dated CHECKS, I liked it the old way much better than the new way.
  • Reduced workload with tax filings!
  • Made sure we were compliant.
  • Improved security.
ADP Workforce Now
We use ADP for timekeeping, Payroll, tax deposits and filings, and are starting to use it for more HR type things.
It makes it so much easier to keep track of legislative updates! And to ensure we are ready and have everything in place we need to comply with them.
This is something that we definitely struggled with before ADP SmartCompliance. We used to have three different systems for timekeeping and Payroll. So then data from all systems needed to be combined for tax filings and other reportable data. Have you gone and definitely made this 100% better!
ECCA payroll and timekeeping was one of our prior systems. ADP SmartCompliance is so far above and beyond their services, it is not even a comparison! They would not assist with notices from agencies about tax filings that they submitted, Nor provide assistance with the data needed to reply for these notices. They also were not compliant with garnishment deductions, and other statutory items

I really wish that you could have conversation with the ADP tax employee who handles any uploads that you submit. Since you cannot, you have to submit a new case and your primary consultant cannot help you with these things… so then it’s back to trying to contact someone regarding the taxes from ADP SmartCompliance. Just seems like a lot of back-and-forth that could definitely be improved!
