Overall Satisfaction with ADP Vantage HCM

ADP Vantage HCM is being used company-wide for recruitment, HR, payroll and time. This system allowed us to standardize processes and implement more security so we could open up more options for self-service.
  • ADP Vantage has a wonderful reporting feature called "Field Grabber". This allows even very inexperienced users to create the reports they need.
  • ADP Vantage has a robust security management tool. We can set up users into a standard profile or easily create unique profiles for special circumstances.
  • ADP Vantage gives the client access to manage their own setup, for the most part. We can manage our setup to incorporate changes in our processes.
  • ADP Vantage can improve it's effective dating options. Many users don't understand what date to use and end up selecting a date that causes a problem with the data. It would be nice if we could set parameters to this field on certain screens.
  • It is not easy to audit any user activity ADP Vantage. It's a complex report to run that needs to be deciphered, not easy to read for the occasional ADP user.
  • Several fields are not as they are named, so it is not as user-friendly as it appears. For example, in Garnishments, if you have a Federal Tax Levy Agreement it has to be entered as Lien Type of Child Support order with a Sub Type of Private Order. No one would figure that out on their own.
  • In standardizing our processes, we have cut down on payroll errors. From 40+ off-cycle checks per pay to about 5.
  • The Workflows have eliminated the need for email and papers being shuffled around for approvals. This saves time and money.
We have been using ADP Vantage for 6+ years so it would not be fair to compare it to products we used 6+ years ago as those are now outdated. Although I can compare the relationship. I like being an ADP client because of the reputation of ADP and the way it takes care of its clients. With previous providers, we were ignored and really had to push to get assistance. With ADP we feel a true partnership.
I believe ADP is great for large businesses that are expanding. There are lots of cool features that we haven't used simply because they don't apply to us yet, but I hope to use them in the future. The Data Cloud and Bench Marking are ideal for the large business that wants to see where they are in the market and their changes over time.

Using ADP Vantage HCM

2500 - 2 Corporate employees are heavy users as System Adminitrators, 00 Business Office Administrators are the Practioners, 400 Managers and the rest employees who use ADP Vantage.
2 - 2 system administrators, one for HR and the other for Payroll and Time. The system administrators have to be well informed of the company policies and needs to be able to adjust ADP setup to meet those needs.
  • Uniformity but with flexibility
  • User Friendly
  • All inclusive database with one log on
  • Analytics is being used more as the module has become more user friendly
  • Manager delegation is a wonderful tool for managers going on vacation or LOA
  • We are looking for a way to incorporate bonus programs in ADP using Talent
ADP continues to enhance the product and give us more robust tools that we can use to increase efficiency and manage the workforce.

Evaluating ADP Vantage HCM and Competitors

Yes - Ceridian HPW. It was difficult for the users to process payroll, not user friendly. The reporting was outdated and impossilble if you didn't understand SQL.

ADP Vantage HCM Implementation

It was a great implementation, ADP went above and beyond to ensure it was successful. ADP hosted modeling sessions that included the subject matter experts from all areas. It was helpful that the implementation was all inclusive as we received indepth detail of how each area affects another.
Change management was minimal
  • Training was difficult because we are decentralized. The ADP training is too generic and often caused more confusion since it wasn't customized to our processes.

ADP Vantage HCM Support

The Service Connect used for support is difficult to use and occasionally service requests are closed before they are resolved. The support used to be top notch, but it's declined over the years. I struggle with managing service requests.

I don't know of any "Premium Support" this an option? Do we have to pay extra for quality support?
Yes - Yes. ADP usually is very on top of system related bugs and gets them resolved quickly.
There has been nothing in the past year that I can remember havingin exceptional support.

Using ADP Vantage HCM

It's a great product and the enhancements make it better all the time. I feel there are some areas that are severly lacking attention, such as Garnishments. This area of the product is not user friendly at all and ADP has not made an enhancement here since we went live 2012.

  • Employee use is simple, updating thier own personal information
  • Field Grabber reporting is a great simple tool
  • Effective Dating, the system allows retroactive changes where or when it shouldn't
  • Garnishments is not intuitive. Max percent for Child Support is a combination of 2 field entries that makes no sense at all. The Payee doesn't show the address, so you don't know if you are entering the correct one.
  • Employee Documents. I set this up, but when I need to make an update to the setings it's hard to navigate.
  • ..although I love EDA, it could be simplified somehow and be incorporated in Vantage rather than imporiting spreadsheets
Yes - Works well, no complaints from employees. We only use it for employee use, not manager or practitioner
