Overall Satisfaction with ADP Vantage HCM

In our company ADP Vantage HCM is being used across the organization, from human resources and payroll to employees to reporting for senior management. The main purpose we use it for is payroll, although it is also used for recruiting and other purposes.
  • It is very easy to learn and use, especially if you are familiar with ADP products
  • The support team at ADP has been great and extremely helpful
  • Employee self service portion is very beneficial
  • The training information provided is definitely lacking, it is hard to find ways to learn quick tips or techniques and there appear to be no pre-recorded training sessions
  • After using both Vantage HCM and WorkforceNow - Vantage is definitely a step backwards or a downgrade regarding its capabilities
  • The reporting also seems to be lacking and/or the training is hidden somewhere. I am a quick learner but do not find the reporting tool to be easy to self-teach on and so I have been extremely limited in the reporting I have been able to use.
  • Overall, I'm sure that senior management believes that the ROI has been high, however the issues that we have had with ADP Vantage HCM has created and continues to create additional work, errors, and problems which overall is costing a lot more than they pay attention to.
  • It should definitely not be overlooked that the payrolls, direct deposits, W-2's have all reflected and calculated exactly the information that has been submitted and there are rarely any issues with payroll itself
  • The self service portal, although helpful, has the capability of so much more helpful but at this point in time is not easy for the non tech savvy user. The majority of our employees are working outdoors and not on computers and are quite often confused or unable to access their information.
Working in human resources and payroll for many years, I have used Ultipro, Paylocity, company created payroll systems, as well as several version of ADP. Although ADP Vantage is, in some ways an improvement in older versions of ADP, it is an absolute step backwards from ADP WorkForceNow which is an older product.
Although ADP Vantage HCM is no a terrible product, it is by far not the best product that ADP has to offer. If the main reason for choosing it is the cost, then I would be sure to calculate the cost of having employees, managers need to use other programs to backup or create information that Vantage is not able to. With that said, it is a fairly easy system to learn (especially if you are familiar with ADP products) and the support team that I have had experience with has been, for the most part, exceptional.

Evaluating ADP Vantage HCM and Competitors

Yes - Yes, it did replace another system but I'm not sure what system they were previously using. I believe the need for the change was because of the quick and continued growth of the company by acquisitions. I believe they are also now looking at replacing ADP Vantage HCM as it is not what they had expected.

ADP Vantage HCM Support

The support for ADP Vantage HCM is mostly excellent. Sometimes it can be hard to reach an ADP representative that is knowledgeable in whatever area you are having difficulty but for the most part it is very good. For the weaknesses that ADP Vantage HCM has, they almost make up for it with their support teams. If by chance you reach someone who is unable to help, I suggest calling the main help line again and you will reach someone who not only helps with the issue but also walks you through the process and explains it to you.

Until this question came up I was not aware that there was 'premium support' to be purchased. Based on my experience with using ADP Vantage HCM at my current workplace as compared to my previous workplace (which also used ADP Vantage HCM), , I would assume that they have purchased it at my current workplace. Without premium support, it was difficult to get assistance or responses to service requests. ADP support has been essential at my current workplace so if you are going to chose ADP Vantage HCM, I would say it is necessary to pay for the premium support to help with any glitches or other issues.
Yes - I have encountered a few bugs with ADP Vantage HCM and have reported them. Unfortunately most often the response from ADP is denial that it happened (?) even when provided with screenshots. Sometimes I am informed that they will report it and have it looked at. In those cases I was given an update after they have confirmed there had been an issue.
This is an easy question. Our previous ADP representative (and team) went above and beyond to assist us. Our company can be difficult and definitely high maintenance and our ADP rep (Alma Holguin) was always friendly and accommodating. In my many years working with ADP she was definitely the most exceptional.
