Overall Satisfaction with Airtable

Airtable is being used by the Center for Digital Learning & Innovation in a number of ways but most notably to display and categorize eLearning tools in a searchable interface.

Pros

  • Users don't need to be coders to use the database features.
  • Provides a simple-to-use tool and generates several views.

Cons

  • In their Help Guides, there is no mention of compliance with Section 508 or WCAG 2.0 Level AA accessibility standards.
  • Airtable has had a positive impact on our goal of sharing and sorting tools.

We were looking for a Pinterest style interface to display a number of apps. With Airtable, it is easily create your own database collections, and quickly slice and dice your information to create Pinterest-style galleries for various audiences.

Airtable combines foundational concepts of digital information management and retrieval (i.e.: the spreadsheet and relational database) to create something new – an easy-to-use tool that serves as a personal information organizer, but also provides the ability to create galleries for sharing different views of a collection.
