Overall Satisfaction with AlphaSense
I use this mostly for research and idea screening. I get the most benefit in deep dive research where normally it is difficult to be able to find niche details or information that help me with thesis iteration and risk analysis, AlphaSense's ability to help me sort through this data via the GenAI search, as well as grids has greatly improved my workflows and productivity.
Pros
- Get longitudinal information from several followings
- Sort various files and make grabbing similar data from various files easy
- Very helpful for quickly searching for information from various documents
- Notebook is helpful for real-time workflow
Cons
- Workbook is helpful but can be a easier to export, so I can get the notes back into my internal workflows
- GenAI could have more concise answers that pull better quotes
- I am unsure if there is any charting ability, but mixing in some of these datagrabs with dynamic charting would be nice

Compared to FactSet and PitchBook, AlphaSense is a good tool to fill my suite of financial analysis. PitchBook is superior for private company and transaction data, as well as screening for similar companies (the sourcing feature of the job). FactSet is superior for financial analysis for public companies, as well as charting data. AlphaSense is superior in research for documents and deep dive industry research (mostly qualitative) and grabbing data from financial documents.
