Overall Satisfaction with Alteryx

We use Alteryx to extract, transform, and load data from convoluted data warehouses into a usable format that can create reports and actionable insights.

Pros

  • Extract data from database
  • User-friendly - quick to learn
  • Ability to perform complex transformations of large datasets with ease

Cons

  • The tools icons could be improved to more readily show what the tool does.
  • Better training and support forums.
  • Ability to "auto translate" data. Use ML to show it an example input, and [an] example output, then have the program copy that.
  • Alteryx allows us to manipulate large datasets much quicker
  • Alteryx saves us time when running ad-hoc analyses by being able to quickly review the data
  • Alteryx allows us to "wow" the clients
Alteryx is much more repeatable, accurate, and reliable. It also is more efficient and loads faster than excel transformations.

Alteryx is easy to play with until you get it right, but it would be nice if there were some better training available to help get the transformations right the first time.
Good online support community. If you google any problem or error, it's likely someone has solved it before. It would be nice to have a "live support" option.
Alteryx is well suited in a situation where there is a large dataset that needs to be repeatedly transformed. It's not particularly valuable in scenarios where the data only needs to be transformed once.
