Overall Satisfaction with Altium 365

We are a design office so we are using alitum everyday to design boards for a variety of clients.
We are doing the schemactic, the layout, the mechanic integration with SOLIDWORKS for small and much bigger project, single or multiboard projects.

Pros

  • Library and components integration
  • Sharing project with Altium 365 plateform for clients or manufacturer
  • harnesses clarity
  • synchronisation between schematic and layout

Cons

  • Big projects are sometimes difficult to handle and slow it down a bit
  • Running in Virtual Machine is sometimes quit challenging
  • More examples, templates, basic configuration should be given. The first configuration is a nightmare ^^
  • Documentation is sometimes not very clear.
  • project sharing
Although I love using Altium 365, the configuration lacks of explanation.
I think some basic configuration should be given to beginners to help them create their first PCB as quick as possible.
I did not follow any formation, maybe that's why ^^
Altium 365 is way on top of that list.
We can see that Altium 365 has been made by Electronics engineers and not just software engineers.
Once we understood how the system works, the design is very simple, even for big or challenging projects

This is the most powerfull toool for PCB i've used. Compared to mentor graphics and OrCAD, Altium 365 has several years of advance
