Overall Satisfaction with Amazon Advertising Sponsored Products

[Amazon Advertising Sponsored Products is] being used in our digital marketing department. It's a crucial component of growing our business on Amazon. We create ad campaigns to generate sales and build brand presence/reach. We run campaigns for sponsored products, posts, sponsored brands, display advertising. We also use it to build out our Amazon brand store.
  • Intuitive UI - easily create and manage campaigns
  • Generates solid return on ad spends
  • Provides detailed analytics and reporting.
  • Limited lookback on historical data
  • Very manual, not enough automation without 3p solution
  • ACOS is a deceiving metric, should include ROAS instead
  • Very positive ROAS for outdoor furniture segment.
  • Promotes large enough growth to require a role dedicated to manage Amazon campaigns
  • Brand stores are difficult/clunky to manage.
Google advertising is by far the leader in digital ad platforms, Amazon [Advertising] Sponsored Products really only addresses the need to promote listings on Amazon.com. Sponsored products does not address the need for off-site media, so google advertising is essentially the top of the search funnel whereas sponsored products would be at the bottom of the funnel where conversion happens.

However, it helps to gain a competitive edge and build your brand. Relatively cheap to get started, but needs a dedicated advertising budget as costs will rise with campaign success.
