Overall Satisfaction with Apache OpenOffice
OpenOffice is a great free alternative to Microsoft Office, used to create presentations for other employees, briefs, bulletins and to organize information.
- It is free software!
- The user interface is very simple to adapt to
- It saves to Microsoft’s Office formats (like .docx)
- I don’t have anything to critique OpenOffice for
- OpenOffice has streamlined employee project organization
- It has made it easier and cheaper to communicate with clients in a professional manner
- It has completely removed the cost for office software
I selected Apache because it provides the same tools and performance (as well as the Microsoft Office formats) for absolutely no price tag. It is produced by people who care about making a product that works— great updates are made periodically. The interface is very similar and takes very little time to get used to. It should be a no-brainer!
Evaluating Apache OpenOffice and Competitors
Yes - It replaced Microsoft Office. It just does the same tasks but costs nothing, no license or initial price tag.
- Price
- Product Features
- Product Usability
- Product Reputation
I chose this software mainly due to the price being $0, and doing the same tasks as competitors like Microsoft Office.
I would not have changed my selection. It is simply the best choice for office software.
