I use OpenOffice instead of MS Office. I contains everything I need from MS Office and the price is right - FREE.

- handles Excel spreadsheets flawlessly.
- it presently has all functionality I need, but redlining could be improved
- Have never had to purchase MS office
- OpenOffice can opon all versions of MS Word files and save in those formats
