Overall Satisfaction with Appian

The Appian customer service is excellent. They are always on top of all our the requests and follow through with our questions. Their technical support is also very knowledgeable.
Appian is being used as a business process management to orchestrate account setup and servicing for our private client services area.
  • The strength of Appian is the ease to integrate with other systems using API calls.
  • There are built in plug-ins (to SalesForce for example) that allows integration to other systems that we are already using in the enterprise.
  • Appian GUI is really easy to use and intuitive.
  • Expensive compared to other BPM tools.
  • I would like to see Appian build a more efficient way to support event based (e.g. queues) integration.
  • Appian is an accelerator for us. We don't need to build in the business process management in house.
In additional to Appian, we evaluated SalesForces and K2. Both either did not handle the use case complexity we needed to address or had issues with deployment/maintenance/regression test issues.
Appian is suited well for real time API integration that involved multiple business users processes. Where Appian is less appropriate is in the event-base integration or batch processing.
