Overall Satisfaction with Articulate 360

My department oversees online learning. We use Articulate 360 to create online compliance courses for teachers and to convert f2f training for our consultants into online courses. Our consultants often receive request for the same training and sometimes it's just for a few people at a time. Articulate allows our consultants to focus on new training and be able to meet the needs of all our LEA's.

Pros

  • It allows IDs to be as creative as possible (if you can think it, you can build it).
  • It provides so many options on how to build courses. i.e. microlearning, interactive, dynamic
  • Articulate offers so many opportunities to learn how to use and they are always helpful in figuring out error messages with storyline files.

Cons

  • Reporting.. It would be helpful to incorporate a way to categorize quiz questions that could generate a report to determine which category the learner needs to revisit.
  • .. When generating an image, once you find an image that's best for your course, there's no way to save that image for future reference. It would be helpful to be able to generate images based on that preferences image so you can generate a different images from the same "family".
  • We have been able to create and streamline our compliance course. This led to more partnerships in our service centers and district to purchase our compliance bundles.
  • Articulate 360 has allowed ID's to work with consultants to get their training online which allows them to create more training and reach more teachers on hot topics.
I use all apps except Reach. I love Storyline and use this in all my courses. I then use Rise as my shell and some of the elements there. My team has created a peer review process and we use Review to review each other courses to ensure we are meeting our requirements (accessibility, design).
The various AI images that can be created based on the course specific needs. This has allowed me to focus on other areas without compromising my design.
Since my first training in 2019, I have been in love with the software. I've attended the DevLearn conference every year to continue to learn more. Articulate 360 continues to update the software making things much easier to use. I'm very impressed on all the updates I randomly notice when using the apps.
I have never used Captivate but I have redesigned a course that was created using Captivate. I was not impressed because it lacked interactivity.

In my last course, I needed to create a scenario but Rise scenario block is very limited. It wouldn't allow me to hide the character. I had to pivot to using Vyond to create a video and storyline to ask the questions.
