A great software for engaging training.
Overall Satisfaction with Articulate 360
Articulate was invaluable in converting old PowerPoints to self-paced computer-based training, which helped improve the efficiency and effectiveness of my training program. I was only able to use Storyline, but the ability to import slide decks into the software as a starting point for improvement was really useful. Many of the functions are easy to learn and use. The AI assistant and, in general, the AI functionality are easy to use and produce a really polished product with little need for modification.
Pros
- Importing from other software.
- Course creation.
- Easy export to SCORM.
Cons
- Training videos.
- Automated Suggestions.
- More import functionality
- Training effectiveness.
- Training efficiency.
- Course flexibility.
I’ve only been able to use Storyline, but it’s been fairly easy to learn. The import function works well with Microsoft Powerpoint and will also import from other sources. Rise has premade course slides where you can just edit the content, which is great when your training material is not proprietary. The storyline is siloed and more open-ended, with a user-heavy approach to course creation, but it is really intuitive.
I have not had the pleasure of using the AI assistant personally in my course creation. I was able to observe its use during the Articulate conference I attended, and it looked incredibly easy to use and very helpful. With one short prompt and a click, users were able to create good content in their course.
Articulate is vastly superior to Microsoft Powerpoint in many ways. Obviously, for computer-based training, Articulate is in a category of its own, but even for facilitated training, the different features like variables, layers, and states give it an edge over PowerPoint. The recent addition of the morph function to articulate really eliminated the last function in which PowerPoint was superior.
