Overall Satisfaction with Ascentis

We use Ascentis across the organization for our HRIS. We use it for recruiting, HR/benefits, payroll, performance, and talent management.
  • Ascentis has amazing support. They are quick to respond to emails and the people on the phone are always very helpful.
  • They are constantly making improvements. I can tell that they are investing in their product and trying to make it more up to date.
  • Their implementation is fantastic. Individual meetings are held with product teams that walk you through every step.
  • Having multiple databases and websites is not ideal. Updating something as simple as a job title requires the use of multiple applications including payroll, payroll bridge, and a remote desktop.
  • In addition to multiple databases, their recruiting is not their own application. This creates challenges as the setup and support is a different process than the rest of the HRIS.
  • The ROI has likely been neutral. The system has required quite of bit of hands-on admin work that takes up time for our HR team. However, we'd be in worse shape if we didn't have a system at all.
Ascentis has far better customer service and the implementation experience was also better. The ability to do a lot of customization is also easier with Ascentis as it's smaller organization. The payroll has positive and negatives compared to ADP but the accuracy is the same in both. Ascentis just started their community site which doesn't have a lot of traffic but hopefully can become more like ADP's community site, which was extremely helpful to me as an administrator.
The support is fantastic. I get quick responses via email and the phone wait time is usually very short. I also have an account manager that frequently checks in with me and offers tips and help. They are also starting to put more content on their Community site, although it's not as interactive with other users as I'd like to see. Support is one area Ascentis excels- keep it up!

I think smaller companies that are just looking for HR, benefits, and maybe payroll could use the product well. All of those things can mostly be done on the web now. The product would also be good for smaller HR teams that need a lot of support as their email and phone support is fantastic.

Larger organizations looking for an all-in-one seamless experience should look elsewhere.
