Overall Satisfaction with Automox
We use Automox to provide automatic security updates/patches to approximately 250 computers (mixed Windows and Mac).
- Clean, easy interface
- Custom policies by groups
- Dashboard provides quick summary
- Powerful scripting
- macOS support for OS patches is unreliable
- More categories to include/exclude categories of patches would be useful
- Awkward to use in a lab environment with multiple users on machines
- Reduced time for patching third party software
- Visibility on software installed on computers
The macOS operating system updates have not been reliable although third party software updates have worked. The Windows updates work for both the OS and third party updates.
Automox is cloud based vs PATCH MANAGER Plus which requires on premise servers. We consistently had issues with PATCH MANAGER Plus working on remote computers even with appropriate firewall rules and configuration. PATCH MANAGER Plus had an awkward interface. Automox interface is much cleaner and easier to navigate; however, it is also more expensive.
