Overall Satisfaction with Automox
We use Automox for software patching and Windows update management. This allows us to mitigate any software vulnerabilities by applying patches and updates in a timely fashion. It also allows us to set up schedules for maintenance on assets in our tenant regarding Windows updates or other software programs.
Pros
- Software patching.
- Windows update management.
- Creating worklets to fix other issues.
Cons
- More reporting options.
- A UI refresh.
- Easier process for creating worklets.
- Has help us patch those hard 3rd party software vulnerabilities.
- It has reduced our risk exposure allowing us to save time patching assets.
- Gives us more control of our assets that are remote.
We have reduced our risk exposure while using this tool, as it has allowed us to patch systems and mend vulnerabilities that come with those apps over time. Overall security has increased since using this tool, as we can patch systems as needed to resolve many issues. Less user interaction and calls by our support staff have also trended since using this tool.
Automox is better at patching applications such as browsers or Adobe than Intune. Intune, however, has better reporting and a more robust catalog of device management capabilities. We use both in our environment and utilize each of their strengths, as mentioned above. At the end of the day, we have no preference for either tool as long as it gives us the results we need, which it does when used.

Evaluating Automox and Competitors
- Integration with Other Systems
- Ease of Use
It is easy to integrate with Intune for deploying the Automox agent to assets managed via Intune. Automox has helped streamline our patch management process. The automated patching feature is a huge plus. I can set up schedules and let the system handle the rest. This has greatly reduced the risk of vulnerabilities and saved us a lot of time. It also works very well patching third-party applications.
No changes were needed; it was a very simple and easy-to-follow process for us. The main goal was to get us into the tool and start working and patching our systems to keep us protected from vulnerabilities.
